US Secretary of Defence Lloyd James Austin III, who is on an official visit to India, called on PM Narendra Modi earlier today. Secretary Austin conveyed greetings of President Biden to the Prime Minister

PM welcomed the warm & close relationship b/w the 2 countries. PM outlined his vision for strategic partnership b/w the 2 countries & emphasized important role of bilateral defence cooperation in India-US ties. He requested Secy Austin to convey his best wishes to President Biden
Secretary Austin reiterated the US Govt’s continued commitment towards strengthening bilateral defence relations b/w the 2 countries. He expressed US’ strong desire to further enhance strategic partnership for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
