From the onset, our intention for #Lodestar was for it to be browser-native *but* also developer-friendly.
So our approach has been two-fold:
∙ Hey, let's build an ecosystem of composable libraries that others can leverage &...
∙ Build it in a lightweight fashion
We also created lodestar.chainsafe.io in 2020 to showcase some of the developer tooling we have put out. There's 20+ libraries in npm to be used by others as well!
E.g. @myetherwallet looks to be leveraging our BLS library 👀

How does any of our work in 2020 make #Lodestar browser-ready? How is it relevant to 🪶 light clients? 🪶
Well...
Our aim is to have our *own* full beacon node serve verified data to our light clients in a lightweight, efficient, & secure way.
6/12
There's value to be found, lessons to be learned, & synergies to be captured from building our own beacon node that could inform our light client work.
We are now steadfastly on our way towards a light client PoC for 2021.
7/12
In fact, however, our light client work has one dependency:
Eth2's upcoming HF1 (aka hardfork1) upgrade, otherwise known as "Altair".
8/12
This Eth2 hardfork adds the machinery to allow for light clients to effectively exist 🙌
Purpose-specific mechanisms by way of:
∙ sync committees and
∙ a light client sync protocol
All of our work in 2020 were *necessary* precursors to a #Lodestar light client PoC, which will involve syncing the client properly & rolling up our work with merkle multi-proofs - which serves the data - to the full node level.
