In 1974, the students of Nishtar Medical College had an altercation with Ahmadis at the Rabwah Railway Station. This event turned into a massive and violent anti-Ahmadiyya riot resulting in many casualties among en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1974_Anti…
Ahmadis and destruction to Ahmadiyya property. During the extremist Islamism of Zia-ul-Haq, a more strict anti-Ahmadiyya law was passed known as Ordinance XX. Ahmadi life became more persecuted and strict.
This law does not allow Ahmadi Muslims to call themselves Muslim or
to "pose as Muslims", which are crimes punishable by three years in prison. This Ordinance and the 1974 amendment in the constitution effectively gave the state of Pakistan, the exclusive right to determine the meaning of the term "Muslim". After the formation of Pakistan on
the 14th of August, 1947, Muslim doctors migrated to Pakistan, but their number was very little. This created a vacuum in the availability of medical doctors in the newly formed Muslim state. On this background, Dr. Mohammed Jamaal Bhutta and Dr. Col. Mallick were of the
view that Punjab would require a second medical college on priority basis to meet the needs of the province in near future. So, Government of the Punjab took this situation very seriously. And soon,Sardar Abdul Rab Nishtar, the then Governor Punjab, made a historical
announcement of establishing a modern medical college and hospital in Multan.
In 1974, the college also opened the Dental Section.
The construction of the Nishtar Hospital block started in 1953. The basic idea and it's plan was provided by Dr. M. J. Bhutta. He had already
collected many ideas during his tour of U.K. by visiting many hospitals there. Mr. Inamullah, Mr. Jamaal-ud-Din and Mr. Murat Khan also participated in the construction.
On 18 July 1947, the Indian Independence Act 1947 of the Parliament of the United Kingdom stipulated that British rule in India would come to an end just one month later, on 15 August 1947. The Act also stipulated the partition of the Presidencies and provinces of British India
into two new sovereign dominions: India and Pakistan. In March 1947, Lord Mountbatten arrived in India as the next viceroy, with an explicit mandate to achieve the transfer of power before June 1948. Over ten days, Mountbatten obtained the agreement of Congress to the Pakistan
demand except for the 13 eastern districts of Punjab (including Amritsar and Gurdaspur).[24] However, Jinnah held out. Through a series of six meetings with Mountbatten, he continued to maintain that his demand was for six full provinces. He "bitterly complained" that the Viceroy
was ruining his Pakistan by cutting Punjab and Bengal in half as this would mean a 'moth-eaten Pakistan'.

Vice President George Bush. This earlier operation, known as Black Eagle, went on for three years, overlapping North’s operation.
