Yesterday I mentioned that Asian ethnic activism tends to be very female dominated. Got a lot of attention, and since this is a fascinating question, I decided to do a bit of research and see if I could confirm my suspicions. 1/n
First, here's the banner of the Asian American Journalists Association. I count 10 women and 4 men. 2/n Image
Here's the board for something called "Chinese for Affirmative Action," what I get when I google "Stop AAPI Hate." There are 20 names, when I couldn't tell sex I googled the person and looked for a picture. I came up with 14 women and 6 men. 3/n Image
The board looks to be mostly male though, which under rules of liberalism makes them sexist. 4/n Image
Found something called "Asian Americans for Equality." Here's their board of directors. 7 out of 9 are women. 5/n Image
Found something called "Asian Americans for Advancing Justice." Many of these people don't look Asian, but regardless, there are 22 women and only 2 men. 6/n ImageImageImageImage
Next is the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. We have 7 women and 4 men, and the only non-Asian of the group appears to be a man, so we can say 7:3 ratio. 7/n ImageImage
I'm going to quickly check some ethnic activist groups to see if this is true for all ethnic activism, or it's just Asians. First, UnidosUS staff has 11 women and 3 men, so it's actually similar. 8/n ImageImage
Next is Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund Board of Directors. 6 women and 5 men. 9/n ImageImage
Looking at the staff of the same organization, not just the board, I get 13 men and 7 women. So we don't see the absolutely lopsided numbers we see in Asian activism here. 10/n Image
Next I move on to the most famous African American organization, the NACCP. Among senior staff, I count 10 women and 7 men. 11/n ImageImage
That's all I feel like looking at tonight. In sum, we can say Asian American activism is very heavily female dominated (70%-90%). Tentatively, we can say black and Hispanic activism has more women, but the numbers aren't so lopsided, though the sample of groups is small. 12/n
Ok, just realized I can also look at Asian members of Congress. There are 10 AAPI women, and 8 men. If you look at East Asians alone, depending on how you count it's about 9 women and 2 men. Note that Congress as a whole is only about 25% women. 13/n
If I was going to explain why, I’d say

1) Politics, and ethnic activism, requires confidence, and American society provides more of that to Asian women than men.

2) Liberalism is seen as more “feminine” ideology, and Asian men feel insecure about masculinity, so stay away.

So much female comedy here, you don’t want to miss this hilarity. They’re talking about their mood disorders and all the prejudice they’re overcoming and how they all inspire each other. Can’t miss. joinclubhouse.com/room/xerAZ5Ob
They’re all unmuting themselves right at the punchline and then breaking in with the most painfully fake laughs I’ve ever heard.
They cheer each other by going “woo woo woo” at the same time and it sounds like it’s sarcastic but it’s supposed to not be?

One Fox News segment has done more to discredit the military in the eyes of the demographic that supports it than twenty years of incompetence and failure in the Middle East.
lol
“For 99 percent of Americans, the question will never come up in a job interview: Can you hang from a bar and tuck your legs to your chest?”

Other jobs don’t have fitness standards, why should the army? nytimes.com/2021/03/11/us/…

The Cuomo New York article starts with a roast where they played a game that made a staffer think "you're mean." nymag.com/intelligencer/…
One female staffer wore a shirt she thought was cute, Cuomo told her she "looked like a lumberjack." She offered him her phone number and "he behaved as if she’d come on to him." Who's the real victim here?
Another one of Cuomo's crimes is not hiring enough ugly women.

Ok, I just read the Rubio piece. It's more delusional than I thought, he sees unionization as a way for workers to resist woke programming. What planet is this guy on! All unions are led by leftist radicals, it would be much more likely to demand it. usatoday.com/story/opinion/…
There are already unions in some industries. Do any of them push back on HR policies or wokeness? Is there a single example of this?
Conquest's law: you need explicitly right wing institutions, anything neutral will go leftist. But this is seeking to empower those already left wing! Go with Romney over this, at least he's not stupid enough to just take AOC's program and think he's winning the culture war.

Parents can afford to send their kids to a $50K/year school and live in fear. Why not leave, invest $50K a year in cancellation insurance, and give it to the kid at 18? I know poor grad students who speak out, this is cowardice. No sympathy. city-journal.org/the-miseducati…
If you took a Pakistani goat herder and started teaching his kids gender fluidity he would take risks to stop it. Because he actually believes in something, he has a part of his soul that is not simply devoted to status seeking.
“We need to feed our families. Oh, and pay $50,000 a year to have our children get indoctrinated.” Do these people listen to themselves?

New report from the US gov on gender equality in Afghanistan. What are we still doing in Afghanistan, you ask? US has spent $787 million on gender programs, not including gender included in other programs. Hope to challenge stereotypes and patriarchy 1/n usip.org/sites/default/… ImageImage
Report begins with a map, gives you lay of the land, so you know all the provinces you have to control in order to overthrow the patriarchy. 2/n Image
"There is no Dari or Pashto word for the terms 'gender' and 'gender equality.'...Afghans often simply use the English word without any translation."

Obviously, the US will need to help change the language, maybe introduce new pronouns to accomplish its mission. 3/n Image
