Bandung Conference 1955 led the way to Non-Aligned Movement. But 1962 Sino-Indian War as result of increasing tension frm CIA sponsored 1959 Tibetan Revolt, and US backed coup overthrowing Sukarno in Indonesia in 1965 would damp the spirit of Bandung.
Indonesian investigators found an American-made MK-7 detonator device at the wreckage. Suspect Hong Kong janitor Chow Tse-Ming turn out to be using a false identity. He fled on CIA airline Civil Air Transport (CAT) flight to Taiwan before British HK authorities traced him.
3 survivors swam 9 hours to reach an uninhabited island til they’re rescued. 1 was flight crew Anant Karnik who wrote books about Princess Kashmir crashes. All sunk in Cold War memory hole. I certainly didn’t learn abt it in my US high school.
