Lots of activists and media gathering in Echo Park this morning following the news that the city (@MitchOFarrell) plans to displace and fence off the community of unhoused people here #EchoParkRiseUp
Numbers have tripled since the action started at 7. A lot will stay for a while to flood the park with signs, some will come back for the night as police will probably try to displace the people of the camp when less activists/media are present #EchoParkRiseUp
So Twitter doesn’t want me to post a really quick interview I did with Ayman Ahmed, one of the activists and organisers living in the encampment where he spoke on the community sentiment around Echo Park and the slimy tactics of police in displacing them #EchoParkRiseUp
There we go, had to play around with the caption and couldn’t tag it using #EchoParkRiseUp. Had 3-4 bars the whole time tweeting so its not a reception problem🙄
