DOH Bicol COVID-19 vaccine program coordinator Dr. Rita Mae Ang-Bon says 7,500 AstraZeneca doses were returned to DOH out of protocol, but they are still usable because they were stored in proper temperature during the transport to Bicol
DOH Bicol official says there was a defect with the temperature monitoring device in the shipment containing the 7,500 AstraZeneca doses.

She says it registered 400 degrees Celsius or beyond boiling point, but when they touched it, vaccines were still cold.
When they checked using a different thermometer, it showed that it was transported in temperature of 4 degrees.

AstraZeneca doses are supposed to be stored and transported at normal refrigerated temps of 2 degrees to 8 degrees Celsius.
