First press conference by @JoeBiden starts now. Announces that they will now set a goal of 200 million vaccines on first 100 days.

First question is from @AP about other issues facing opposition by GOP.

"I got elected to solve problems," @POTUS says, adding that first focus is COVID. Other problems are long-time problems like guns and immigration that will get solved too.

.@POTUS says he will move forward on key issues and GOP needs to decide if they want to decide to work together or not.

"I've been hired to solve problems, not to sow divisions."

"I guess I should be flattered because I'm a nice guy," @POTUS. "Truth is, nothing has changed," noting seasonal cycles in migration.

.@POTUS blames Trump for eliminating $ support for Central America and for dismantling current system, adding that he is rebuilding that.

"The vast majority of people coming to the border are being sent," @POTUS says. "Tens of thousands."

Fort Bliss will be made available for unaccompanied kids, @POTUS says, noting that it will be 5,000 more beds.

"Because Mexico is refusing to take them back," @POTUS says about families, adds that "all families should be going back." Says that he is negotiating with Mexico. Adds that unaccompanied kids won't be sent back.

.@POTUS adds that there is a phone verification system to take in kids or not. Suggests that some phone numbers could be those of traffickers.

Point of this tweet is that @POTUS is making no apologies for ending two of Trump's most extreme and controversial immigration policies.
