⚠️ ARKANSAS IS ABOUT TO BAN TRANS PEOPLE FROM ACCESSING HEALTH CARE ⚠️
This would be the first bill of its kind to pass in any state, ever.

It will completely bar gender-affirming health care for trans youth and bar public insurance coverage for trans people of ANY AGE.

Yes, you read that right.
Every major medical association supports this health care.

Banning trans kids from getting this treatment, which could force some youth to go through their endogenous puberty, would cause unspeakable and irreversible harms.
Those harms can be life-threatening. Denying gender-affirming care has been shown to contribute to depression, social isolation, self-hatred, suicidal ideation, and more.

Medical decisions belong to trans youth, their parents, and their doctor. Not the government.
If we are loud about this, we could get Governor Hutchinson to veto the bill.

The Muslim ban, which ultimately targeted a large number of Africans, destroyed people’s lives: families were separated, people were denied seeking life-saving health care treatment, and others were prevented from seeking educational and career opportunities.
This included diversity visa recipients — who won a once in a lifetime opportunity — but were denied because of Trump’s discriminatory bans.
The Biden administration recently stated it would not right these wrongs, threatening to forever prevent Black and Brown immigrants from coming to America.

Let's break down what's in the atrocious bill Georgia Governor Kemp just signed into law.
SB 202 makes it a crime to provide beverages to others who are in line to vote.

It disenfranchises most out-of-precinct voters, those casting provisional ballots inside their counties but outside their one assigned polling location.
It shortens the period to request an absentee ballot.

It prohibits government agencies from sending absentee ballot applications to voters.

It requires that drop-boxes are only available at early vote locations and accessible during voting hours.

Under Trump’s Muslim ban, even people who won the diversity visa lottery had their chance to come to the US ripped away.

Now, Biden has failed to fix the injustice for people like Anwar.

Yemen is in the midst of a dangerous war. When Anwar won the lottery, he traveled through militant-controlled regions and checkpoints to get the documentation he needed and spent his life savings.

He was then informed that his visa was denied because of the Muslim ban.
Anwar, his wife, and two kids had an opportunity to escape the war and come to the US – until Trump took it away.

Their fate hangs in the balance, along with many others in Yemen, other countries in the region, and African countries as well.

Today marks the day civil rights leaders finally arrived at the Alabama State Capitol after facing weeks of deterrence and violent repression. Black and white photo of a group of people marching in what
Protesters, including John Lewis and Martin Luther King, Jr., demanded the ability to exercise their right to vote and brought attention to the killing of fellow activist Jimmie Lee Jackson.

It took three attempts to reach the capital.
Their critical activism paved the way for the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

But today, we are facing a new wave of voter suppression, specifically targeted to suppress Black voters and other voters of color.

The Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Equality Act is happening NOW.

7 in 10 Americans agree — it’s time to pass this legislation once and for all.
The Equality Act would add explicit protections for LGBTQ people under federal civil rights law.

It would also finally make discriminating against or sexually harassing people while shopping or on transportation illegal. We must update our federal laws to close these gaps.
Racial justice, women’s rights, and religious groups all support the Equality Act.

Because we ALL deserve to live free from the fear of discrimination and harassment.

You asked, we answered! Check out our Q&A on ID access in this thread!
National and international standards require some IDs to have gender markers, so we can’t tell every federal agency to remove them. But we support and encourage all agencies to review the necessity of gender markers and remove them from IDs where possible.
Some states have been able to implement updated policies that include an X designation much faster than others – it often depends on what software systems they are using to collect and store their data and how difficult they are up to update.
