The irony, of course, is the allegations surrounding Kemp's own gubernatorial election win and the lack of any Republican effort to "strengthen" election laws then.
I could list everything Kemp had a hand in but with character limits it would take a twenty tweet thread.
"Georgia storm troopers arrested state Rep. Park Cannon on Thursday as she knocked on Gov. Brian Kemp’s door, interrupting his livestreamed announcement that he had signed an elections bill into law."
A quote from the article above by State Rep. Erica Thomas,
"Thomas said she was upset Cannon was arrested at all because state law says legislators are “free from arrest during sessions of the General Assembly” except for charges of treason, felonies or breach of the peace. "
Hey, remember that time when Alex Jones and Ali Alexander were allowed to march into OUR State Capitol (which, for you slow chuds, doesn't fucking represent their interests) and hang out for a photo op... then walk out, unassisted by Ga Storm Troopers?
Pretty sure they weren't security checked either and they definitely weren't made to follow the same COVID-19 measures us common folk do.
Damn, my bad. Again. "State" Troopers.
🤷🏻♂️
Being told the charge is (or includes) felony obstruction.
Good fucking luck with that.
It'd be hilarious you think you can get that prosecuted if it wasn't for the fact you dragged her out of the building.
The building she works in. While at work. For the constituents...
who voted for her to represent them.
She still isn't showing up on the inmate database. As soon as I can confirm a felony charge I will post. Probably not until I see a document or her show up on the inmate database with charges.
The feed would have cut due to "technical difficulties" and the storm troopers would have looked at each other sheepishly.
Shit. My bad. Again.
"State" troopers.
🤷🏻♂️
The female voice asking the storm troopers to cite the code... 100% every single time. Always ask. Even if they ignore you because they don't know.
ALWAYS ASK!
"State" not Storm Troopers.
🤷🏻♂️
The @ajc article earlier in the thread has been updated to show @Cannonfor58 was charged with "obstruction of law enforcement and disrupting General Assembly sessions."
In fact, violence wasn't even cited as the reason for her arrest, per @AJC article and Storm Trooper spokesman Lt. W. Mark Riley.
That other charge?
Preventing or disrupting General Assembly sessions...
That would be 16-11-34.1(f) and penalties outlined in 16-11-34.1(h).
And doing a quick Google search I don't see @Cannonfor58 convicted of this once, let alone twice. Which means it's a misdemeanor...
And here comes the explanation of why this is all bullshit.
Our State Constitution.
Article III. Section IV. Paragraphs II -IV.
IV clearly states privilege of freedom from arrest "except for treason, felony, or breach of the peace."
VII states that each house...
shall be the judge of the qualifications of it's members and have the power to punish for disorderly behavior and misconduct and the ways they may do so.
VIII lists how the House may order the arrest of a member.
These three paragraphs are what Rep. Erica Thomas was...
New, updated thread on the Proud Boys (#CapitolCapons) and associates involved in that "peaceful protest" at the Capitol on January 6th. I'll probably do this a few times as I learn more and to organize. This is to help other #SeditionHunters. #DoxxYourBoys #CapitolInsurrection
