North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper won reelection by 4.5% last year. Looking at what changed from Obama's 2% loss here in 2012, Cooper lost ground in the Black Belt and parts of the Sandhills. Cooper's 21% improvement in Wake County overpowered much of his rural losses. Image
Here are the top five counties that swung the most towards Cooper and the ones that swung the most towards Forest. Image
Wake (big urban/suburban county)
Cabarrus (suburb of Charlottte)
Watauga (Home to App State)
Henderson (Asheville suburbs)
Cooper did hold his own in many rural areas across the state. He did not suffer the rural wipeout that plagued other statewide Democratic candidates.

In a sign of just how inelastic North Carolina is, Auditor Beth Wood only won reelection in 2020 by under 2%. She faced an opponent with no qualifications and a history of stalking. She lost a number of rural counties that she carried fairly easily four years earlier. Image
You can see the drop in support among minorities downballot. Look at Charlotte.
Wood carried Robeson by 17% in 2016 but lost it by five points in 2020.

Utterly unfathomable what is going on in Brazil. nytimes.com/interactive/20…
Yesterday Brazil reported about 27,000 more cases than the US.
Deep within the Amazon, there still exists several (mostly) uncontacted tribes. I do worry about how they're dealing with this.

You can buy a period accurate Blunderbuss for under $700. What is a Blunderbuss? It was basically a proto shotgun for the black powder era. Remained in use for about 200 years.
modern guns don't interest me. antiques are where it's at. Love the black powder era in particular.
black powder era guns were wildly inaccurate, heavy, and required lengthy reloads.

Joe Biden did 7% better than Obama in ruby red Kansas thanks to his considerable gains in the suburbs of Kansas City, Wichita, and some smaller cities across the state like Manhattan and Dodge City.
Biden swung HD-28 (parts of Leawood and Overland Park) by 37.5%. It was Romney 67-32% and Biden 51-48%. Republican Carl Turner won the open seat 53-47%. Meanwhile ancestrally Democratic HD-2 swung well rightward.
I don't need to tag you know who because he'll find this map by himself.

I have been struggling with my anxiety but the potential for storms makes it go 📈📈📈
my medication has largely kept in check but it hasn't been working as well these past few months. I see my therapist again next week about increasing my dosage
I know many men don't want to talk about their mental health but I'm open about it. Since I first sought out treatment nearly six years ago, my life has tremendously improved. On medication though, I went from 80 lbs to 130ish (I don't really care to know how much I weigh).

I for one throughly enjoyed Captain Marvel. Why didn't people like it? It's got Jude Law. Isn't that enough?
We should have Jude Law in more movies.
First movie I saw him in. Was kind of a quirky movie that didn't really take off at the time.
