3/ TREEHOUSE IN THE SHADE by @1001vrchat and SCRN is one of my favorite @VRChat worlds.
It's got the most impressive array of worldscale shader effects that transport you to MANY different realities. Play w/ the controls, but also let someone else drive. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
4/ There are a lot of active experiences on @VRChat, but
THE SPIRE V1.3 by Qyr and Sketchu is quite a rockclimbing arm workout. It requires some l33t VRC tricks to get to the end, but it's a fun interactive experience. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
5/ I first saw PANDORA NIGHT by @VRCFins when I was a judge on the new @Raindance Immersive category of best immersive world. It feels like you're transported to the Pandora world of Avatar with Dinosaurs. It's a trippy vibe. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
6/ MUSEUM-OF-VRPAINTING by tanabe masterfully combines the display of meticulously created @TiltBrush pieces with a compelling step-into-the-painting mechanic + a puzzle vibe of finding the next portal to a corridor to the finale. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
7/ @LakuzaVR turned over the world hop to Turnip, who took us to NIGHTLY NEIGHBORHOOD by @doctormiawoo, which is a expansive world with low-poly stylized art, but with a find-all-the-birds game. Explore more via the teleporter board in the home space. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
8/ The finale was LOST IT, another shader-based creative coding immersive music world by Moche. I really felt how expressive the abstracted movements tied into the underlying emotions of the music.
It's quite hypnotic & immersive. vrchat.com/home/world/wrl…
9/ Thanks @LakuzaVR for taking us on the World Hopping tour as a part of @NoProscenium's SPRING FLING.
Highly recommend checking out some of these @VRChat PC experiences with some friends to see some really innovative & creative immersive experiences.

1/ Here's a thread of my @IEEEVR conference coverage of workshops & sessions (Zoom, YouTube/Twitch) posters & demos (@VirbelaHQ) with private backchannel in Discord.
#IEEEVR2021 sessions run from 9a to 9p UTC+1 [1a to 1p PDT] Sat to Fri.
3/ There's also A LOT of backchannels set up on the Discord for #IEEEVR2021 registrants.
A category/audio channel for each session + channel for each paper.
Here's a screenshot of a channel for AR paper that links to the paper PDF & YouTube demo:
1/ What's so unsettling about happened on Wednesday is it marks the beginning of a new cycle of violence, & not the end. This is the physical manifestation of @johnrobb's concept of "Networked Tribalism" on the right, & I expect it to continue in 2021.🧵👇
2/ These two images from the attempted insurrection contrast the maturity of tactical sophistication vs a more harmless tourism of sedition. Whether you fall onto on side or the other, then @johnrobb says lessons will be learned from this first iteration.
3/ I doubt there was really a master plan for what to do once they got inside. But there's probably a lot of foreign adversaries who were watching who no doubt got a lot of ideas about how this movement could be exploited for the benefit of their country.
FTC + 48 states are suing Facebook:
"The FTC alleges that Facebook engaged in a systematic strategy to eliminate threats to its monopoly, including the 2012 & 2014 acquisitions of Instagram & WhatsApp"
The FTC lawsuit focuses on Whatsapp & Instagram, but Bloomberg reported on December 3rd that the Justice department has also been talking to a number of VR developers, who are also alleging similar anti-competitive behaviors within the VR industry. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
3/ On August 18th, Oculus announced that Facebook social media accounts would be required to use their VR hardware, and there was a backlash that catalyzed VR developers like @BigscreenVR's @DShankar to speak up about potential anti-competitive behaviors:
2/ Facebook plans on releasing their first AR glasses next year. They didn't show any actual product, but they did show a number of pretty bulky prototypes in a promo video in their collaboration with RayBan
3/ The Oculus Quest 2 (64GB) will be sold for $299, and the 256GB for $399. It has 3 IPD adjustments and a single LCD screen at 1832x1920 per eye - just shy of 2K per eye.
Oculus Move is a built-in fitness tracker included as well.
1/ #MSBuild is starting now.
This thread will be tracking the latest @HoloLens news, & how AR is being used in enterprises.
Mixed Reality Dev days starts on Thursday in @AltspaceVR
Breakout, chat, & Q&A is here: mybuild.microsoft.com
Livestream is here:
2/ The #MSBuild keynote is starting now in what looks like a pre-recorded video.
The schedule for the day is below.
For AR enthusiasts, HoloLens 2 released a major software update for HoloLens 2, Windows Holographic, version 2004 on May 12th docs.microsoft.com/en-us/hololens…
3/ @satyanadella CEO talking about Azure cloud, which is also a big part of Microsoft's AR strategy. Here's a couple of examples of Azure features for @HoloLens:
1/ I'm a huge fan of Process Philosophy as the catalyst of a paradigm shift.
Rather than seeing things as static objects, Process Philosophy sees reality as a set of dynamic processes & relationships that are in constant flux.
2/ Alfred North Whitehead's "Process & Reality" was a big catalyst for process philosophy & relational metaphysics, but his work is dense & difficult to wrap your mind around with all of his neologisms & unconventional use of terms.
A good overview here: plato.stanford.edu/entries/whiteh…
3/ Whitehead thought of his system as the "philosophy of organism," & there are some in the philosophy of biology who are arguing to take a more process philosophy & relational approach.
