Dozens of demonstrators stand in silent vigil outside the Georgia Capitol in protest of the new elections restrictions law and in support of state Rep. Park Cannon, who was arrested at the statehouse after knocking on @GovKemp’s door during the signing ceremony. #gapol
Trailed by dozens of demonstrators, Cannon walks with MLK III in a somber march to the Capitol, with a brace on her left arm. #gapol

“Why are you arresting her?” This Facebook Live video from @TWareStevens shows the moment authorities detained state Rep. Park Cannon as @GovKemp was behind those doors signing elections restrictions into law. #gapol
@TWareStevens @GovKemp Said Stevens, who is at the jail w/ Cannon now: "She wasn’t banging on the door. She was knocking on the door. She was being respectful. She knew he was signing a bill that would affect all Georgians – why would he hide behind closed doors? This isn’t a monarchy." #gapol

On a party-line vote, the Georgia House just adopted a measure that work restrict drop boxes, require voter ID for mail-in ballots and gives the Republican-controlled Legislature more authority over local elections officials. #gapol
The measure is now sent to the Georgia Senate, which has adopted its own version of the measure. I’ve heard from multiple sources there’s an outside chance the two chambers hash out their disagreements *today* for final passage though Monday might be more attainable ... #gapol
