2. 𝘚𝘛𝘊𝘎 (𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 < 1 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳) subject to Total Income exceeding 2.5 lacs : Equity: 15%, Equity MF: 15%, Debt MF: as per individual tax slab
3. If you have bought and sold the same shares multiple times then use 𝐅𝐈𝐅𝐎 methodology to calculate the holding period and Capital gains

4. Long term capital loss can be setoff only against long term capital gain.
5. Short term capital loss can be setoff against both long term gains and short term gains.
6. One can use the cost inflation index to determine and get the benefit from the indexed purchase value
Index purchase price = Indexed purchase value = Purchase value * (CII for the year of sale/ CII for the year of purchase)
7. STT is payable to the Govt and cannot be claimed as expense when investing
