OK I missed an important element of his defense which is that he's apparently been flying around lots of underage women and paying for their hotel rooms while he has sex with them but it's ok because they were dating.

I respectfully disagree about the megaphone thing in that, as someone else on here pointed out, I suspect reporters' desensitization to the 8chan guys may have led to them underestimating what absolute freaks they come across as in it theverge.com/22330129/hbo-q…

it's also possible that conversely, I myself am desensitized and underestimating how problematic it is to give ron watkins airtime to act like hannibal lecter trying to fit in at a hentai con

this is totally valid and I think the doc has a problem where it's trying to act like it's a sweeping panorama of QAnon when the material they have is much more about 8chan generally

glenn claims his tweet saying nobody from Parler was arrested during the protests (factually incorrect, and Parler users were geotagged inside the capital by @dmehro and @dellcam) was taken out of context. context was him insisting Parler isn't pro-Trump greenwald.substack.com/p/how-silicon-…

glenn is correct that FB/Twitter played a huge role in supercharging this but none of his claims about Parler are true. it's essentially unmoderated, it's so pro-Trump it announced a contest for liberals to post there, it prompts you to follow a bunch of right-wing nuts on signup

I cannot stress this enough: the president just called for "the Military" to go into Minneapolis and start shooting people. He ended this thought with "thank you!"

To be clear, the president is saying that the response of the federal government to riots will be murderous lawlessness. It is not legal for "the Military" (I assume he is referring to the National Guard) to shoot on sight. That would actually be an atrocity.
