It is always a fucking thrill when someone says "I will not be polite anymore" or "Stop telling me to stop saying 'fuck!'" that people send them my views on profanity. Here in Danish

The likelihood of a woman experiencing domestic violence surges by 35 per cent when she earns more than her male partner, new Australian research has revealed. h/t @maazaland…
The research, based on more than a decade of de-identified Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) surveys, showed an increase in violence when women out-earned their partners was common across all ages, incomes, education levels, and cultural backgrounds.
Researchers found no impact from earning on the rates of domestic violence or emotional abuse against men.

There was also no change in the experience of physical and emotional abuse if the woman’s earnings increased, but stayed below half of the household income.

Arkansas and South Dakota pass bans targeting transgender minors…
"If the bill is enacted it would be the first prohibition of its kind in the US, opponents say. The bill would prohibit doctors from providing gender confirming hormone treatment or surgery to minors, or from referring them to other providers for the treatment."
It also allows private insurers to refuse to cover gender-affirming care for trans people of any age.

I publish my weekly essays for FEMINIST GIANT on Sunday. Here are the past month's:

"They said, ‘You are a savage and dangerous woman.'
I am speaking the truth. And the truth is savage and dangerous," Nawal El Saadawi, the Egyptian feminist who died last week.
"The world is full of sexually frustrated women who are are taught, and obey, that they must wait until they are married (to a man) to have sex, and yet I’m unaware of any massacres committed by those women." On the Atlanta terrorist
Feminism is not: supporting a woman simply because she is a woman, especially when her vote hurts mostly Black, Indigenous and women of colour. On #BespokeFeminism, which is tailored to perfectly fit just the individual wearing it.

The four times I met Dr. Nawal El Saadawi, she terrified and thrilled me. She spoke the truth and "the truth is savage and dangerous."

She was savage and dangerous, and feminism has to be savage and dangerous.

My new essay.… #NawalElSaadawi

The 1st time I "met" Nawal, she was on a documentary film on our TV set in London in 1980: an Egyptian woman with bright white hair who owned her power and spoke with absolute confidence in her words. An Egyptian man criticised her, complaining she was ruining Egypt’s reputation.

New essay: the feminist Dr. Nawal El Saadawi died last Sunday at the age of 89. I wrote about the times I met her, what I learned, and the impact of her work.…
Since Nawal died, I've spoken to media outlets in Nigeria, South Africa, the UK and the US and I joined six other feminists from our region to speak with a Lebanese feminist about her and pay our tributes. Here are the links I have: This is @nprweekend…
And this is BBC Radio 4's Last Word #NawalElSaadawi…
