This article right here captures many of the things wrong about the Bangalore infra fix.

Let’s break this down.

BMRCL will start construction work for the metro along ORR within 6 months.

Knowing all this, BBMP in all it’s wisdom is looking to award an annual contract for BPL maintenance.
Even worse: there has always been talk of metro construction along ORR, and it picked up speed in the last year.

BPL was completely in record time last year despite knowing metro work will start soon. Because, unless one finishes the work, one will not get paid!
What happens to all the expensive white topping work along the ORR? That too will get broken when the metro work begins.

All the inconvenience borne by citizens. Pffft. All the tax money? Pffft pffft.

#nallurhallikapadi protest was a few years back. Promises made @ArvindLBJP yet to be fulfilled

Situation remains grave, if not worse.

Video 1: entrance to Borewell Road from Whitefield Main Rd. The dug up sections outside the Post Office remains unchanged for year+
In some patches, both sides of the road is poor made worse by construction debris

Slow going on a Saturday afternoon. Vehicles & construction work machines parked haphazardly make it all the worse.

Where is the concern for free movement on a road? What happens in an emergency?
Two BWSSB works happening simultaneously - water line & sanitation.

Two sets of engineers. They don’t talk to each other as that would be expecting too much.

How about making traffic arrangements? Again, we citizens expect too much.

A story.

I* has had a tough life. All of 15yo, ill treated by his stepmother, I* was at his wits end in Chikkaballapur. Making matters worse, a hearing issue since birth. As yet undiagnosed.

His maternal uncle got him to Whitefield this year
Uncle reached out to Whitefield Rising, who he came to know via the recycling “Restore” in Vijaynagar.

First things first: Seek clarity on the problem.

Off to @teleradrxdx for an audiology test (cost discounted, 🙏🏽). 80% hearing loss was the verdict. Need hearing aids.
Enquiries made, decent hearing aid w/ 40% off will cost between 27-46k. What to do? Fundraise?

That’s when a volunteer started looking at Govt Schemes for the differently abled, whether adult or child

And there is! There are scholarships, job reservations, transport allowance!
