WE COMMIT TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING IN ONE YEAR:

1.Lower costs, better services

a) A 50 per cent reduction in annual membership fee for
those between the age of 65-70.

b) No annual membership fee for those above 70 years

2 An equal safer and better place for women and all other genders
a) Enhance & increase decision-making spaces & roles for women and other gender colleagues.
b) Provide working hygiene & other specific services for women colleagues such as working sanitary pad vending machine 3-N
c) Establish a weekly Ladies Night. Establish special events, programmes and days that are led by women and other genders and caters to the priorities they set for the club.

d) Two guests to be allowed free of charge with every woman member.

e) Establish Sexual harassment committee with time bound redress of complaints

3. For our younger colleagues, from new and legacy media

a) Establish specific events, programmes and services that give our younger colleagues chances to interact, organise and participate in the club as equals

b) Establish space for interaction and networks of journalists cutting across mediums, languages and regions

4. A hub to think, work and learn

a) Establish a functional well-stocked library and reading space.

b) Establish and regularly hold workshops, bootcamps and trainings to upgrade skills and learn about new emerging opportunities and issues affecting journalism. In not just English but other languages too.

Such as data journalism, digital hygiene, mobile and multimedia journalism. skill upgrading workshops in several Indian languages and English

c) Establish fellowships for colleagues from dalit, tribal and other disadvantaged communities and backgrounds.

d) State of the art media centre with 20-25 workstations with high-speed internet and a photocopy station. The photocopy facility will come at nominal charges.

e)Five cubicles from where TV soundbites and lives can be done.

5. Well-being of the fraternity

a) Quarterly Health check-ups

b) Health insurance for Club staff

c) Strive to provide group health and term insurance for members at a reasonable rate.

d) Covid emergency fund for members as well as PCI staff

e) Legal fund for protection and support of journalists facing legal challenges pertaining to their professional works.

6. The Press Club of India and not the Press Club of Delhi

a) Build associations with clubs in the regions to provide access to the workshops, trainings and skill-building activities that PCI undertakes.

b) Strive to provide discounted and comfortable services in Delhi to visiting journalists of associated clubs from all over India.

7. Food, Beverages and Services

a) Free food delivery in media houses within a radius of 5 Kilometers.

b) Happy hours to be introduced.

c) No guest charges between 4-7 PM.

d) Guest charges post 7 PM to be rationalized.

e) Wider menu with more choice and different portions

f) Special evenings and services for different segments through the year

HOW WE WILL DO THIS

We will do this with complete accountability and transparency. The panel will put in place practices and processes to be completely accountable and transparent in its functioning and decisions to all members and not to coteries.

a) A quarterly report on all decisions taken by the management disseminated to all members including a rough unaudited summary of expenditures & incomes.

b) A quarterly feedback system to hear new ideas, understand space for improvement
