There are some good points here. Cutting the defense budget has become politically toxic for many bipartisan reasons but I can't say that I have ever read anything about the F-35 that doesn't include it being awful in one way or another. Some examples: 1/x
"The pricey new stealth jet can’t turn or climb fast enough to hit an enemy plane during a dogfight or to dodge the enemy’s own gunfire, the pilot reported following a day of mock air battles back in January." 2/x medium.com/war-is-boring/…
"According to the Pierre Sprey, co-designer of the F-16, the F35 is a turkey. Inherently, a terrible airplane. An airplane built for a dumb idea. A kludge that will fail time and time again. Just impossibly hopeless." 3/ gizmodo.com/the-designer-o…
In this @Axios piece, @felixsalmon says that the decline of Americans' trust in media is "mostly not a function of Trump's war on "fake news".
That's true, sort of.

NOW: White House Covid coordinator @JeffZients says 22 million vaccine doses have gone out this week. More than 6,000 active duty military will be assisting with vaccinations in coming weeks.
Additional 700 community health centers will have vaccines by end of April, @JeffZients adds.
Current 7-day average is 2.4 million shots per day.
"Eight weeks ago, only 8% of seniors, those most vulnerable to COVID-19 had received a vaccination. Today, 65% of people aged 65 or older have received at least one shot, and 36% are fully vaccinated," says @POTUS

NEW: Joe Biden's problems at the US-Mexico border may be exacerbated by Border Patrol agents and union officials working with Republicans to undermine the Biden Administration, say ex-DHS and Border Patrol insiders. independent.co.uk/voices/border-…
“This is a planned, coordinated attempt to sabotage the Biden administration,” said @JennBudd, a former Border Patrol agent-turned-immigrant rights activist.

I'm pretty sure Tucker Carlson isn't going to be truly happy until one of his viewers murders Anthony Fauci.
He's spent most of his A block on a rant about Fauci and now he's turned his attention to telling his viewers that they should be "asking questions" about the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is — wait for it — not available in the United States.
His argument right now amounts to something like: "The President is a Democrat, his administration is promoting vaccines, therefore you should 'ask questions' instead of 'obeying'"
