THREAD: Healthcare Professionals Alliance Against COVID-19 holds a virtual town hall.

Updates by our digital producer @YsabelwithaWhyy
Dr. Pauline Convocar shares her experience with the recent COVID-19 surge overwhelming hospitals: Noong July and August, kinaya nung system. Wala pa kaming hinindi-an, hindi ganoon kadami, but this time it's a different story.
Dr. Convocar says she was asked to intubate a patient in a car.
Dr. Convocar says she hopes that ambulances would be the ones taking patients to hospitals instead of patients driving themselves.
Dr. Antonio Dans says apart from increasing bed capacities to address the surge of patients, there must be an increase in manpower as well.
Dr. Dans says the best way to address the surge is to improve efficiency: Pagandahin ang pamamalakad.
Dr. Aileen Riel-Espina, a frontliner during Super Typhoon Yolanda: Ang mga nakikita kong kahinaan sa sistema are the very same things na nakita ko noong Yolanda.
Dr. Riel-Espina says there is still not enough manpower,
the health information system is obsolete, and the medicine is still expensive.
Dr. Riel-Espina says The One Hospital Command Center should have a real-time dashboard that would show availabilities in hospitals.
Dr. Riel-Espina says she asked the MMDA and DOH to show real-time data on bed occupancy rates in hospitals and treatment facilities and the number of patients under home care.
Dr. Riel-Espina says there should be two beds as well as ambulances dedicated to the One Hospital Command Center in every hospital.
Dr. Dans on oxygenating at home: Hindi ito madaling gamitin so kung mag-ooxygen, do it under medical supervision. Make sure someone is teaching you and supervising on how to use it.
Dr. Anna Ong-Lim: We can encourage patients to establish early contact with us so we can monitor them online.
Dr. Dans calls on all doctors to open telemedicine services: Para matawagan tayo ng pasyente kasi karamihan kung may nakausap na doktor at nareassure na mild 'yan, you'd be fine at home.
Dr. Convocar: Sana lahat ng families may emergency plan.
