most days i walk my dog past a field full of cows. i look up, theyre frozen. staring at my dog: a cattle dog. they know. they intuitively know they are subservient to her. she doesnt care, hardly looks up, but they know. i feel like a dick saying it but many people are like this.
out of all the people in my life, online, offline, family, old friends, maybe in a classroom, anywhere, who have ever had a problem with me, know how many of them have ever actually just straight up talked to me about it. zero. never. because they know. they know their own nature
even on here, this is just an accelerated example of real life, im too busy for it to bother me but its just interesting, if i see someone talking shit or having the wrong idea about me, sometimes ill hit them up. ask whats up. man to man. they never respond. ever. not once. ever
its interesting because my theological views require me to reject the idea that god has some “tiered” system. but down here in fallen world, people take on natures and accept them, i guess. that of the rat, the cow, i guess theres nothing you can do about it. weird aspect of life
a friend told me a story, he was in a classroom, the teacher accidentally said something very mildly “off color” and immediately apologized. someone in the class reported the teacher, instead of talking to them. that person is like a rat. its difficult for me to accept this fact.
theres also a kind of “socrates effect” in this for me, like when the oracle tells socrates hes smart and hes like “...but im not”. i can look at myself, theres no way im cracking into even halfway up the % of exemplary individuals. but im not like “that”. guess its complicated.
