The driver, Mrs. C., was an Arizona science teacher who has been in the classroom for 33 years. 🧑🏽🏫🏫
Here are quotes I typed as she told me about her day job:
“I’m in the trenches every day. It’s not enough to get by- so I Uber at night.” 🚙
On buying classroom supplies 📝 out-of pocket:
“We do it innately. We just do what needs to be done. We can’t wait for the funding or the donation drive.”
On the legislature’s continued attacks on our public schools: ✂️
“The children are not the priority in this state”
On getting by as an underpaid teacher: ‼️
“I’ve got to be able to pay my bills. A second job is the only way to do that.”
On this #RedForEd Wednesday, it’s clear AZ is still failing our kids & teachers like Ms. C.
Prop. 208 was passed to directly invest in our schools. Now, the @AZHouseGOP & @AZSenateGOP is actively trying to undermine voters and further divest $300 M from our kids.
I’ve been on phone calls all day gauging the COVID-19 epidemic in Arizona. Here’s the reality: the virus is literally mutating every second.
Arizona counties don’t have adequate test kits, we don’t have enough cotton swabs for testing, tents will be erected at hospitals and clinics as soon as next week, face masks, gloves, and robes for first-responders and medical providers are almost non-existent.
Why is Governor @dougducey misleading the public? We can’t pray for our federal government to be the only solution. We can pass policies to keep Arizonans healthy, and ALIVE, right now.
