12 things that Working Professionals should do to achieve massive career growth: (A THREAD)
1. Don’t look at your job only as a means to make money. Treat it as a means to learn & execute new things
“Be passionate & bold. Always keep learning. You stop doing useful things if you don’t learn” - @satyanadella
2. Don’t do your work just to do your work. Do it to EXCEL!

If you think you are already excellent at it, ask yourself - Am I the best in the WORLD at what I do? If no, there is still a lot to do
“Whatever you do, throw yourself into it. Throw your head, heart & hands into it.” - @IndraNooyi
3. Aim to deliver the BEST you possibly can... at all times.
4. Add value to the company beyond your KRAs. This can be as simple as making some introductions, or sharing ideas or a vendor that someone is looking for... anything that helps the company
5. Learn sales & the qualities of a salesman! We are all salesmen - we need to sell our talent, our ideas, products, campaigns, etc.... and this is a skill you will need for the rest of your life...
“Sales is holy. Sales is noble. Sales is the fabric of life no matter where you work.” - @rodinhood
6. You will gain absolutely NOTHING by indulging in office gossip. Stay far away from it.... and if for some reason you are stuck in such a situation, only talk positive things about other people or don’t talk at all
As @kunalb11 recently said - “Replace the time spent discussing about other people with any other topic and see your life get better in no time.”
7. There is a good chance you will get to interact with people from other departments. Use this as an opportunity to learn about their work, their problems, solutions, etc.
Understanding various depts of a company is good preparation for a top management role / entrepreneurship
8. Irrespective of your age, maintain a work-life balance. Work hard but never reach a stage of burn-out..... have hobbies, work on your health, spend time with loved ones. Your productivity, energy & output will be much better
9. Take a break from work every few months. Work can get very stressful... take time off to travel or rejuvenate and come back with a fresh mind & renewed enthusiasm
10. Learn the traits of a Leader. Ask the bosses / top management about things & understand why they think the way they do.. why was a certain decision taken? What led to it? How do they manage big teams?
11. Take pride in the company you work for. Take pride in your work & treat it with full respect. You will never enjoy work that you do not respect. Also, never talk bad about your company in public. It reflects poorly on you
12. It is true when they say “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room”. In such a situation Change your room, else you will stagnate & not grow!
The above actions helped me grow, & reach the top management much earlier than I could imagine.
You might not see benefits in the short term, but in the long term these will change your life.... like they changed mine!
