THREAD

Together with @NextGenAmerica & @JoltAction, we released thousands of rose petals onto the Texas State Capitol rotunda to represent the 275,000 youth of color who turn 18 each year and can vote in Texas.

I get angry when I hear "voter fraud." We all know that there is no voter fraud. That the fraud being perpetuated is not by Black and Brown voters but by white Republican politicians that want to hold on to power.
They are calculated and callous and they've looked at the patterns of young voters and Black and Brown voters and tried to make it as difficult as possible for our voice and vote to be heard.
People have fought and died for us to have this vote. Politicians need to win elections by the merit of their ideas and with a mandate by the public.

We need to tackle climate change, defend our democracy, gross inequality and racial injustice.

Texas' power grid was moments away from a catastrophic failure that could have left us in the dark for months.

Climate change is real. The consequences of ignoring that fact are here.
Millions of Texans have been without power and water for nearly a week in freezing weather. And instead of taking ownership and leading us out of this crisis, @GregAbbott_TX sat around pointing fingers at everything from wind turbines to the Green New Deal.
Unfortunately, storms like this won’t be once in a lifetime but will become a more common occurrence. We need to prepare.
