There's absolutely nothing illegal about this, Greg. Are you saying there should be?
Attacking gun rights to own the libs...
I don't know if Lt. Nazario had a ccw permit but in Virginia you can carry a gun openly or in a compartment in your car without a permit. The cops ran the gun to determine it wasn't stolen & did not charge Lt. Nazario with any crimes, let alone a gun crime vsp.virginia.gov/Firearms_Trans…
Pretty remarkable to watch a Newsmax host try to smwar an American soldier for owning a gun, though.
You can watch the full bodycam video here but, unlike what Greg said, the gun doesn't appear to have been on the floor. Seems more like it was in the compartment next to the driver's right leg. The cops never even suggest charging him over the gun.
Update: The police report indicates Lt. Nazario did have a valid concealed handgun permit. scribd.com/document/50209…

It would be cool if the Flyers could beat the Islanders tonight after they just bought some expensive rentals. I would like that.
It would also make @BrentScher sad which is always a good thing.
Well, the Flyers are down 2 goals already and just took a 5-minute major. So, things are going great.

LaPierre keeps going beyond what was asked in the questions and the extra bits keep getting struck. The judge has told him several times things will move faster if he stops doing that.
LaPierre just gave a long unprompted explanation for why he got free hunting trips from a show called Under Wild Skies. The judge told him not to do it again and complained about having to keep telling him only to answer the questions asked by the lawyers.
This happened occasionally with the other witnesses but LaPierre seems to want to try and add explanations to every yes or no question and just isn't listening to warnings from the judge about not doing that. His own lawyers asked him to stop and are talking to him now in recess.

Wayne LaPierre just testified that he does not send any texts or emails. None.
He sometimes reads emails and texts but doesn't send any. He says he's "old fashioned."
LaPierre says he mainly reviews documents on paper instead of digitally.

William Winkler, the CFO of former-NRA contractor Ackerman McQueen, said in a March 26th deposition that the NRA did not end up paying for suits bought for NRA executive Wayne LaPierre at luxury store Zegna. Ackerman McQueen "never billed anything to the NRA for Zegna."
Winkler says Ackerman advised LaPierre to get the luxury suits for media appearances and LaPierre picked Zegna. But Winkler says Ackerman paid for the suits and never charged the NRA. The hundreds of thousands spent on LaPierre's suits have been a major media focus since 2019.
It should be noted that Ackerman used opaque billing practices with the NRA, according to the NRA's lawsuits against them. So, that leaves some significant gray area in how exactly Ackerman used the money it charged the NRA.

New: An NRA board member complained about leaks to me in a recent letter to other board members. scribd.com/document/50182…
"If this type of action had happened in my squadron during the war there would probably be a funeral on the fantail of the ship at 6am and the person would be planted in the sea in a canvas bag," HJ "Walt" Walter said to other members of the board about leaks.
It seems the board member is confused, though. The only information about the board's vote to retroactively approve the NRA's bankruptcy in my reporting came from the NRA's own spokespeople. I did not report the vote count or who voted which way.

Wayne LaPierre's assistant, who stole $23k from her previous job, took $40k from the NRA to pay for her son's wedding and other personal expenses. She still works for the NRA. freebeacon.com/guns/wayne-lap…
Mille Hallow, LaPierre's longtime assistant and advisor, was forced to pay back the money with interest, NRA general counsel John Frazer said in bankruptcy court yesterday. But he wasn't aware of any discipline she received for taking the money.
Hallow is one of the witnesses the NRA plans to call in the bankruptcy case. She is the one who actually received the call from former NRA president Oliver North which Wayne LaPierre has described as a black mail attempt. Her testimony is likely to be related to that exchange.
