1/Audio Rooms (Clubhouse, Spaces and others) are the greatest thing to come out of this pandemic (from a social media POV). Its ephemeral nature creates FOMO, but there are also obviously asynchronous opportunities if done correctly.
2/Some say it’s like an endless conference call, but is it? I don’t think so, context is everything. It’s more powerful than traditional podcasts because of the serendipitous nature of it.
3/The serendipity of key experts chiming in on a topic + the social media elements + the algorithms that surfaces the rooms = magic.
4/Early days yet, but I’m looking forward to the continued growth of the area. Many contenders and there’s a whole convo around whether it’s a feature vs a company, but kudos to CH for kickstarting this.
5/I’m also really fascinated with NFTs, but that’s for another thread

1/A few weeks ago I mentioned on here that a friend of mine, at 25 years old, caught Covid-19 and got really sick. He's much better now and gave me permission to share photos, his name and other details. A thread...
2/His name is Craig Powe. Craig caught Covid-19 twice, the first time he recovered without issue, however, the second time it almost killed him. Craig has no comorbidities, except for childhood asthma, something that has not bothered hime since he was 10 years old
3/A few weeks ago I called Craig about some work only for him to tell me that he's been in the hospital, I was shocked. I asked him what happened. He said, he caught Covid.
Just to add to this a bit. A thread on Hellshire Beach
UDC owned Hellshire beach years ago and tried to upgrading it for the fishermen there, including developing housing for them. Well into the planning, activists came and encouraged the fishermen to self organise and manage the beach.
