Rep. Palazzo, 12:13 a.m.:
"I’m horrified by what my colleagues witnessed at the border. As a father, the conditions these children are subjected to break my heart...I’m calling on Biden to fix the crisis he created.” [posted w/pic in crowded facility] 3/

NEW: There is NO EVIDENCE that a COVID-19 vaccine caused a Mississippi man to suffer a stroke.

A flurry of news reports emerged based on his aunt's speculation that "he took that J & J vaccine and that, to me, is what caused his stroke" 3 hours later. mississippifreepress.org/11314/no-evide…
MSDH: “It is important to note that strokes are not associated with this vaccine—instead, a rare clotting syndrome has been identified. Further, adverse reactions have been cited between six and 13 days after the vaccine was administered."
mississippifreepress.org/11314/no-evide…
The early reports suggesting that a J&J vaccine triggered Brad Malagarie's stroke didn't cite any medical experts, quoting only his aunt's speculation. She isn't a physician.

The story had spread to outlets nationwide by the time MSDH made a statement. mississippifreepress.org/11314/no-evide…

4/12: Congressman Palazzo upset with Biden, says he's "horrified" & "heart broken" at detention centers full of immigrant children.

4/12: Candidate Palazzo rages at Biden for "emptying detention centers" and putting immigrants in hotels.

Posted on the same day, y'all. 🤷🏻‍♂️
To be clear, the "Steven Palazzo" Facebook page is Rep. Palazzo's official campaign page; "Congressman Palazzo" is his official page as a congressman.

Clearly, the two are not in sync.

Similarly, he has @StevenPalazzo and @CongPalazzo on Twitter.
Rep. Steven Palazzo is currently under a U.S. House ethics investigation for allegedly using campaign funds to designate a family home as a "campaign HQ" (but not using it as such).

He allegedly used campaign cash to make repairs & prepare it for sale.

BREAKING from @DonnerKay: A year after Mississippi changed our state flag, a Confederate group is celebrating after Gov. Tate Reeves once again declared April as "Confederate Heritage Month."

Story: mississippifreepress.org/11224/darn-too… Image
“Darn’ tootin’ it is!" a Sons of Confederate Vets wrote posted alongside a copy of Gov. Reeves' proclamation. “It’s official-April is Confederate Heritage and History Month in our state of Mississippi and we observe it with pride!"

More from @DonnerKay:

As Gov. Tate Reeves signed the bill retiring Mississippi's Confederate-themed state flag last summer, he acknowledged "the pain that some of our neighbors felt when they looked at our flag."

Yet he still declared April 2021 Confederate Heritage Month. mississippifreepress.org/11224/darn-too…

BREAKING: The NCAA is considering banning all sports championships in Mississippi after Gov. Tate Reeves signed an anti-trans bill into law that targets transgender teen and young adult athletes.

The state could lose millions in revenue as a result.
mississippifreepress.org/11208/after-an…
Mississippi narrowly avoided an NCAA ban last year when lawmakers retired the Confederate-themed state flag after the NCAA and other sports orgs threatened a boycott otherwise.

Less than a year later, they dove headfirst into another fight with the NCAA. mississippifreepress.org/11208/after-an…
NCAA: “The NCAA Board of Governors firmly and unequivocally supports the opportunity for transgender student-athletes to compete in college sports."

The new Mississippi law requires trans boys/men to compete on girls/women's teams and vice versa.

@yaf And it's also not wrong. It's actual history.

Also actual history: @YAF was founded by William F. Buckley.

Buckley defended Jim Crow laws, saying the "white community" is "entitled" to take steps to ensure it "prevails politically" because "it is the advanced race.”
@yaf Literally founded in William F. Buckley's home in 1960—3 years after he wrote his 1957 pro-Jim Crow editorial.
@yaf To be clear, Young Americans Foundation is an offshoot of Young Americans for Freedom. Their lineage is the same. yaf.org/about/history/
