Did I ever tell you the one about the Aryan Nations Pastor and the Neo-Nazi lawyer who have been suing the absolute shit out of each other for the whoooooole past decade (over what, I still can’t really tell)?

Because THIS one is...a thing to behold.
This might be my favorite legal document of all time.

“THE BIBLICAL & MORAL CASE FOR THE EXTERMINATION OF LAKE COUNTY OHIO AND, IF NECESSARY, OF THE STATE OF OHIO”

[the county isn’t even the party he’s counter-suing.]
Just ... pause and marvel at this one more time.

Let it sink in, before I continue.
I’ve read Exhibit #1 about 20 times, and I’m still not exactly sure what it consists of —

Other than the claim that the other Neo-Nazi in question isn’t really white, is also gay, and a fed.

[possibly]
I think this was one of the Neo-Nazi vs. Neo-Nazi defamation lawsuits in the ongoing legal clusterfuck.

Gay incestuous affairs, transgender Brazilian prostitutes, and fake vaginas.

[Aryan Nations is a gift that keeps on giving.]
Two lines really stand out here:

“Plaintiff’s husband has not had a homosexual affair with his father or any other man.”

“The marital difficulties in Plaintiff’s marriage had nothing to do with any issues of Plaintiff not being an actual woman.”
I would personally like to celebrate Aryan Nation’s glorious exercise of their First Amendment rights here.

This is truly democracy in action.
This Neo-Nazi is acting as his own attorney because attorneys should be “exterminated along with their entire families as a matter of public policy.”

Bold move here; tbh, it could go either way - we’ll have to see how it plays with the jury.

People hate lawyers.
One of the Neo-Nazis had his wife hand write her affidavit (he saved the documents as “illiterate.pdf”), and even she’s clearly SICK OF HIS SHIT.

He normally signs off “Hail Victory!!!” Here, as you can see — she’s scratched it out, and written “whatever.”

You love to see it.
Here, Neo-Nazi Pastor is challenging Black people at jury selection.

The judge just doesn’t understand that a fair trial by his peers means a jury of fellow white supremacists — obviously.
This clever legal maneuver appears in the Aryan Nations Pastor’s response to one of his fellow Neo-Nazi’s multiple restraining order requests.

“He’s under my protection so I can destroy the state for letting him get away with it”

(“It” being... I have no idea — still.)
Because of course
I’m going to pause here for the night:

Neo-Nazi lawyer questions his witness, the Aryan Nations pastor, about photos of said pastor dressed up as Santa Claus, giving out poop on Christmas.

Because reasons.
If you’re just now joining us, I regret to inform you that there’s more where this nonsense came from.

Like, an entire ongoing thread of embedded threads.

[what can I say? It’s just a calling in life.]
I peeked at the court transcript, and — I just don’t have the bandwidth to continue this thread today.

I’ll return to Neo Nazi lawyers, poop-flinging Aryan Nations pastors, and assorted legal disputes over the specifics of pimping after my deadline.
I’m amazed it took this long for the judge to snap.
Aryan Nations pastor, responding to Neo-Nazi lawyer:
— “Meerkat with tits.”

Judge, to Aryan Nations pastor:
— “We don’t need the history of meerkats.”

[how is this a real court transcript]
This is one hell of an opening statement.
Aryan Nations pastor decides to close out his opening statement (in his lawsuit against the Neo-Nazi lawyer) by...

... reiterating, to the jury, that it isn’t fair for him to be tried by non-white supremacist jurors, as they’re clearly not “peers.”
Much like the judge - I also have no desire to hear more about the history of the Aryan Nations in Ohio.

[Break time from Neo-Nazi nonsense for me]

If you recognize the impact of past trauma on your life, it is YOUR responsibility to get help for and resolve it.

It’s not fair. It’s not easy.

But it’s the only ethical path for yourself and others — anything less and you have zero room to whine about past abuse.
If you have the self-awareness to recognize how others’ actions harmed you in ways that ripple into your present:

You very clearly know you need help.

Intentionally not seeking that help is cowardly or masochistic at best — or sadistic.

That’s… bad.
“Hurt people hurt people” is not a helpful phrase.

Hurt people who WANT to hurt people because people hurt them — they’re the ones who hurt people.

Replicating that crap just means you allow abusers lifelong control your life.

Why the hell let them win?

Internal Wix messages “encouraged staff to support Israel’s ‘narrative’ in Hamas conflict,” specifically advising them to “‘show Westernity’ in social media posts backing Israel, as ‘unlike the Gazans, we look and live like Europeans or Americans.’” irishtimes.com/ireland/2023/1…
I’m just going to repeat a key point here.

Wix employees were specifically encouraged to “show Westernity” in pro-Israel social media posts, underscoring that Israelis “unlike the Gazans, look and live like Europeans and Americans.”

There’s an apt adjective for this: racist.
I’ll go ahead and be a bit more blunt with my translation:

“Make sure your pro-Israel posts are as white as possible and emphasize that people in Gaza are brown so we have to kill them if we want a Disneyland in the Middle East”

Extremely brief thread and then I’m eating sleeping pills and praying for a few hours of unconsciousness.
Here goes: on #Gaza, amplifying Palestinian voices, and interview requests.

If you’re already here, you’re no doubt aware that while I fail relentlessly in all things, I do like to try to live up to the ethical standards I set for myself.

That said:

I’ve publicly stated here and on other platforms that I won’t be doing any media interviews on Gaza, and request that Palestinians be contacted instead.

Regardless of one’s political stance on this conflict, it is a fact that Palestinian voices are far less covered.

If I’m quiet for a few more days, please understand that I’m completely drained from everything going on offline — especially from people I haven’t heard from in literal decades hitting me up “because you have a PhD” for “your perspective” on all of this.
I can’t say I’m familiar with this person’s work (apologies), but this is accurate, and it sucks that such a statement is controversial.

For now, what I will say is that I guarantee 99.9% of the commentary you’re consuming — especially on here — is shit, and the loudest voices (as per usual) are generally those who know the least about historical and geopolitical contexts that ABSOLUTELY matter.

I’m not about to get sucked into any debates on Palestine / Israel right now, but what I will tell you as a geopolitical analyst vis-a-vis the hawks calling for war with Iran:

Iranian nationalism is nothing to take lightly - any such scenario would be disastrous for ALL parties.
The other thing that I will say (and believe me it gives me less than zero joy) concerns Hamas’ latest statement concerning the potential execution of civilian hostages.
Hamas’ desperation in laying out this ultimatum - that Israel stop bombing Gaza civilians or Hamas will execute Israeli civilian hostages because “that’s the only language Israel understands” (paraphrased) is a very bad sign.

Reminder: check on your trans folks.

And Muslims, y’all know more than anyone what it’s like to be expected to apologize or explain the actions of someone in a diverse community to which you happen to belong.

Empathy, support, and solidarity — now, more than ever.
It doesn’t matter if you “don’t understand being trans.”

I don’t either — because it’s not my struggle.

But I know this: Ramadan is about compassion, mercy, and fighting base impulses like judgment. Don’t forget that.
I'm on day 2 of an all-nighter trying to finish writing this case study / profile of Dylann Roof --

-- whose actions were not considered representative of an entire community.

Before that, I wrote about Tres Genco.
Before that, James Reardon.
Before that, Patrick Crusius.
