Both Stephen Pollard, editor of the Jewish Chronicle, and Douglas Murray have left up Tweets claiming @NafeezAhmed’s investigation of new Commissioner for Counter Extremism is an “Islamist smear” & “Conspiracist Pap”. Why have they done this? bylinetimes.com/2021/04/13/new…
Could it be due to our investigations of them and their associates?
Stephen Pollard’s paper is now run by consortium including Sir Robbie Gibb who also was an early founder of GBNews. We’ve been looking at their close ties to media and Government bylinetimes.com/2021/02/10/gb-…
Well before the appointment of Simcox, Nafeez Ahmed had been investigating the Henry Jackson Society where Douglas Murray used to be a director, and their funding links to Trump backers and hard right US groups bylinetimes.com/2020/11/03/tru…
Douglas Murray spoke at the Restoration Weekend of the Horowitz foundation, which Nafeez Ahmed describes as a “Who’s Who of Trumpworld white nationalists” where he made some questionable comments about “gang rape and beheadings” and European immigration bylinetimes.com/2020/11/02/mic…
It also appears that Murray might have been an inspiration for Trump’s Muslim ban, given his discussions with US figures who inspired the Islamophobic policy bylinetimes.com/2020/10/28/tru…
Nafeez Ahmed’s investigations are painstaking and he went to all those mentioned for comment with several days to reply. They never did. Byline Times has never received a complaint or call for correction for his articles, and certainly never issued an apology or paid any damages
Stephen Pollard claims he is a ‘friend’ of the new Commissioner for Counter Extremism. We find it alarming that in defence of his friend’s public funded role he should denounce Nafeez’s work as an “Islamist smear campaign” and he should reconsider this allegation
