meet global demand. You're looking at vaccinating 70% of the world's total population. No easy feat considering there was no uniform technology. Western vaccines adopted mRNA technology. China used the typical inactive virus vaccine development. Astra Zeneca took another route.

Sputnik is the same. It's also due to the fact that these vaccines didn't undergo extensive clinical trials, hence the indemnification clause and the dearth of information about side effects. Astra Zeneca has been temporarily suspended due to blood clots. The opposition has been

insistent on the public's right to choose which vaccine to be used on them. Really? If this is the case then they should pay for theirs. Ironically, personalities identified with the opposition were the first to be vaccinated with Sinovac. Proof that they valued their life more

than the conscientious objection to the China vaccine. What they don't point out is even if we had the money, we still couldn't get ahead of the line. Pfizer is a US company. Trump advanced monies for vaccine development and put in a clause that no exports until the US has

completed vaccinating Americans. The opposition continues to hit at the administration on pandemic response. The present surge gives them the impetus but even that is on a global scale. No excuse for mediocrity as the government really failed in contact-tracing but again the onus

is not on the national government because in the hierarchical scheme of things, it's the LGUs who should be doing frontline work. The opposition has been gearing up for the 2022 election since 2016. It is even resorting to extra-legal means to get the President to step down. They

are stupid enough to think that an online petition would trump the Constitutional provision on succession. They make it appear that Robredo is more qualified even if she doesn't have enough public support. Minority rules is not the definition of fifty-percent plus one. We clearly

need a better quality of opposition if the country is to achieve economic recovery in the midst of the pandemic. Obstructionists have no place in a time when there is a global crisis. The opposition should be voted out of office. They don't deserve to occupy public office if they

will just use it as a bully pulpit. More action than talk is what the citizenry needs. Unity is essential. The opposition hasn't out forth a clear platform as to how to move forward in the present environment. Digitization should be the priority. Palliative measures have no use

in the long run. The Vice-President has been busying herself with PR projects which are unscaleable. This is meant to give the public the semblance of belief that she is more capable and effective even if she is not. The leader we need not a leader in need should be our mantra

for 2022..
