Since last year, the world is in deep trouble due to Covid-19

No medicine is fully effective against it

When this is the case, why can't we follow a ritual thought by our ancestors?

It is a very meaningful ritual mentioned in Atharvaveda

We know that there is scientific reasons behind every Hindu ritual

We all are aware of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy

This gas leak incident had taken place on the night of 2-3 December 1984

Over 500,000 people were exposed to methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas

Over 15,000 innocent Indians were killed due to this tragedy! (3/19)

No one were able to escape from this tragedy, other than few Hindus

What's surprising is that these Hindus were just a kilometer away from the site of tragedy

Yet they were saved

The gas couldn't harm them because they were performing Agnihotra regularly

Even on the day of gas tragedy, these had performed Agnihotra

Due to this, not even a single member of their family were harmed

So what is agnihotra? Is it very powerful?

Agni means fire,
Hotra means sacrifice!

In simple term, yagya (sacrifice) of casting of ghee into fire is called agnihotra

People who perform Agnihotra ritual are called Agnihotris! (6/19)

This ritual has a very positive impact on the environment, agriculture and even on human mind

It is advised to perform agnihotra twice a day

How to perform agnihotra?

Main ingredients required are:
* Copper pyramid
* Cow Dung Cake
* Pure Ghee
* Full Grain Rice

Two dry cow dung cakes should be places at piramid shaped copper pot (yagna kund)! (12/19)

Ghee should be applied on another small piece of cow dung cake, and light it with diya which is lit by oil and place it at the agni kund!

Offer the grains (brushed with ghee) to fire! (13/ 19)

Mantra to recite while performing agnihotra during sunrise:

Sooryáya Sváhá
Sooryáya Idam Na Mama

Prajápataye Sváhá
Prajápataye Idam Na Mama

These mantras should be recited clearly and loudly by family members!

And then, only one person should do the offering/ritual sacrifice!

Later the sacred ash should be sprinkled inside and outside the house, including trees! (16/19)

It is better if agnihotra kunda is of copper

In olden days it was only of copper or golden

But it is better to use bricks along with sand as kunda/pot, because sand has several components in it! (17/ 19)

It should be everyone's daily ritual to worship fire, irrespective of religion & caste

Only then we can defeat Covid-19

So to avoid corona or to reduce its impact when we get infected, it is better to practice agnihotra along with precautions prescribed by doctors! (18/19)
