A thread of album covers featuring Richard Avedon portraits.
From 1960: Igor Stravinsky conducts The Rite of Spring
Dave Brubeck Quartet: Red Hot & Cool, a live album from 1955
A wonderful photo by Richard Avedon. Paul Desmond, Bob Bates & Joe Dodge are all there, even if they're out of focus.

This was taken on the set of Edgar G. Ulmer's film St. Benny the Dip, which I've never heard of. The UK title was Escape If You Can.
Happy 79th birthday to Alan Price!

Perhaps laying down the famous organ sounds of The House of the Rising Sun?
Alan Price sings & plays the organ in the Screamin' Jay Hawkins classic I Put a Spell on You, in 1966. The song was a big hit for The Alan Price Set, the group he formed after leaving the Animals the previous year.
Nina Simone's classic cover is from 1965.
