reminds me of when some popufur guy was accused of... chasing trans guys?
he had a public meltdown lashing out at all trans folks; i replied to say this was bad
and people got on... /my/ ass
like, ok, hate me if you want, but doing it right there sure sends some mixed messages

university of minnesota today coming out with groundbreaking research that the best C programmers in the world can't tell if you're giving them bad C
maybe C is bad
"actually c is fine if you just never make any mistakes" Actually chris the developers of the god damn linux kernel are not even this superhuman so i seriously doubt you are

hell yeah it's time to do super weird things to ren'py, one of my favorite pastimes
it's kind of an adventure because it combines "pretty solid advanced docs and readable source code" with "most google results are someone asking a 101 question and getting dubious answers"
for example: i want to hide every visible character, temporarily, in such a way that i can restore them all simultaneously later. this seems extremely doable. a cursory internet search finds people trying to hide a single character which is literally a keyword in renpy
we have reached the stage in this process wherein i go searching for a problem and find a github issue i filed three years ago that's already fixed
