LGBT Foundation is proud to support the full diversity of LGBT communities. We are shocked at the decision by the @ChtyCommission to grant charitable status to LGB Alliance.

"We are shocked that the Charity Commission has registered the self-styled LGB Alliance as we do not believe that any organisation which actively targets and campaigns against trans communities should be granted charitable status.

2/8
We will be raising this urgently with the Charity Commission.

This decision has caused a lot of pain for trans and non-binary people, a community who already face more stigma and hatred than any other part of our society.

3/8
To our trans and non-binary siblings – do not let days like today make you feel that you are alone. There are hundreds of thousands of lesbian, gay and bi allies by your side.

4/8
Be secure in the knowledge that you are loved, you are accepted, and we will always be there for you and with you.

5/8
We believe in a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bi and trans people can achieve their full potential. We can only achieve this vision if we, as one community, work collectively to end discrimination and abuse for all LGBT people.

6/8
Trans and non-binary rights do not come at the expense of rights for anybody else. The progress we have made for LGBT equality in recent decades is a direct result of communities coming together. We have a proud & united history, just as we will have a proud & united future.

7/8
If you have been affected by this and would like to speak to someone, you can call our helpline on 0345 3 30 30 30. Our team are here if you need us.

Racism has no place in the Pride movement.

We are extremely concerned by the experiences shared by Rhammel Afflick, the Community Advisory Board and others within Pride in London.

[1/4]
It’s vital that all white-led organisations redouble our efforts to address institutional racism. This must begin by listening to and empowering our colleagues of colour and taking meaningful actions to eliminate racism in our own organisations.

[2/4]
If you have experienced racism and would like to speak to someone about how to report this, or how to access support, we’re here if you need us. You can call us on 0345 3 30 30 30.

We are incredibly disappointed to see the recent guidance from the Church of England’s House of Bishops, and we know that this news will be met with heavy hearts by many LGBT Christians today.

Sex is an important part of relationships for many people, as is their faith, and LGBT people deserve the right to express all parts of their identity.

The views expressed by the House of Bishops are out of line with many people across the country.

[2/4]
The recent British Social Attitudes survey in 2019 show that 82% of Church of England / Anglican respondents felt that premarital sex is “rarely wrong” or “not wrong at all”, and two-thirds of all respondents see nothing wrong in same-sex relationships.

"Today is my first #BiVisibilityDay as a bi person who is out publicly. I am fortunate to come from a family that is very supportive of the LGBTQ communtity, and indeed I have two family members who are out and blazed the way. [1/13]
So I grew up knowing that if I came out as gay, I would be loved. Despite this, it still took until I was in my 30s for me to understand that I am bi. This is mostly because as a young cis woman, I knew I was attracted to men. [2/13]
Any feelings I had towards women, I put down to admiration. In addition, I didn’t know anyone who was bi, so I didn’t really question it. There were a few important moments in the TV shows I watched as a teenager that could that could have helped me... [3/13]
