🚨Some amendments to the travel regulations

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) (Amendment) (No. 13) Regulations 2021

The one people will be most interested in I imagine is allowing people attending the G7 conference to avoid hotel quarantine and self-isolation
I haven't tweeted for a while on the hotel quarantine regulations - I have been doing quite a bit of work relating to what is happening in hotel quarantine which I hope to be able to speak about in general terms soon. Some pretty extraordinary things happening in these hotels.
There have been some important changes to the rules since I first tweeted about them

For example, a number of important exemptions have been added where the secretary of state can at his discretion make alternative arrangements outside of the hotel quarantine system - such as at home.
For example, boarding schools (!)
"vulnerable as a result of severe medical or health condition" - with various provisos

I think (though can't be sure) this was added as a result of the pre-action letter sent in the litigation I have mentioned I, @TomRHickman and @Francis_Hoar are involved in
There is a new policy (released a couple of days ago) about medical exemptions. It goes further than the exemption itself, you might notice - harder to fit into the policy than the law. Another example of guidance going further than law...

Also, unaccompanied children

Thanks - I block them but he just sets up new ones. Yes It is always helpful to report for harassment.

He (I assume is "he") tends to call the accounts variations of "Steve Bellamy" or "Tir Tairngire". He replies to people who mention me

The problem is that because Twitter allows you to set up an endless number of accounts without verification the block and report function becomes a bit redundant and useless against determined harassers
I know that other people with large followings get this far more than I do - particularly women and people of colour - so I feel a bit awkward even mentioning it, but it has got to a stage where he is contacting institutions I am giving lectures to and god knows who else

I'm thinking of forming a Bar Super League where I get to argue all the big cases against a small fixed list of superstar barristers. Also I get £10m to redecorate my home office and buy some really cool screens and a nice chair. I can't see any possible downside (for me)
Who's in? I'm Chairperson by the way
Before you all start moaning there will be benefits to the whole Bar because I am going to give away all my old court dress and books once I'm done with them

I had this somewhat bizarre but lovely experience meeting Helen McCrory. She was the lead in Deep Blue Sea at the National and was on the northern line on her way in, as was I (going to Temple). I was banging onto a friend about some issue I had in a case, obviously too loud.
On the platform at Embankment up came this tiny woman wearing a tracksuit and baseball cap. “Hello, I’m an actress and couldn’t help overhearing your conversation...”. Turned out she was about to appear in an ITV show playing a human rights lawyer. She very graciously asked if I

There has been some discussion on my timeline as to whether (a) Prince Philip's funeral would be subject to the Covid regulations at all, and (b) if so whether The Queen would be.

Thank you to those who illuminated this for me, I had not given it much thought
Is Windsor Castle subject to the Covid regulations (currently the "Steps" regulations - here )?

The starting point is that the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 only appears to apply to "Crown property" by agreement - see section 73
The Steps regulations (we are now in Step 2) have rules for funerals which require it to be held in a a "public outdoor place" amongst other potential venues.

A "public outdoor place" is defined as including "crown land to which the public has access "
