For everyone DMing/mailing to ask how I am (wow! I have so many friends, thank you ! Been answering email, phone calls, DMs for hours now)

a) I'm good. Not stepping out of the apartment as much as I can avoid it.

b) *if* I do get infected, I'm probably dead in a matter of hours/days, since I have a slightly overactive immune system, but

c) this hasn't happened yet, and hopefully won't! Will keep you posted of any potential departure to higher planes ;-)

d) seriously though, thank you for pinging. All of you stay safe.I greatly appreciate your concern.

e) I am taking it day by day. wake up, check blood oxygen levels - "ok one more day" and then spend all my time with tai chi, math, code, language learning.

Sleep. wake. repeat. Strange times. I don't have kids, so no tension. Que sera, ...

A repeated pattern I see:

Mastery of X (where X is an area of study- say CS or Philosophy or whatever, or a skill, say a musical instrument, or calligraphy or sport, will *massively* enhance the quality your life BUT (

- for that quantum enhancement to kick in, you *first* have to put in a certain amount of work (say 3-5 years of 3-4 hours a day), till the positive effects kick in (again think of learning a musical instrument to an expert level)

- BUT most people don't want to/or "want to but can't bring themselves to " put in the work to climb the initial slope, so continue where they are, *and* get frustrated at lack of achievement.

Of course, this is nothing new, I'm just surprised at the frequency of manifestation.
