Giving kids grace is not the same as lowering expectations.
I will listen to you. I will reteach. I will sit with you and answer questions. I'll even let you come up with your own writing topic and say bump the directions. I'll let you propose something completely new. I'll listen and ask you where I need to improve. This is grace, to me
I will not say to turning in less. I will not allow you to skip major projects and assignments. If I'm grading it, then it needs to be done. I will push you push you push you and catch you when you fall. I'll model it for you and talk it through. I'll re-write the directions.
Despite what the right wingers say, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN (AND HAVE BEEN OPEN). That means we're learning over here, just in a new way. We're pushing ourselves. We're being more creative. We're thinking of solutions to the world's problems. We working, we been open.
