The recently passed Georgia voter suppression law — SB 202 — should not be taken lightly. Given what we just witnessed in the 2020 election, we must be aware of the GOP’s willingness to overturn results they deem “fake”. Here’s how this bill gives them power to do just that: 1/
The bill takes shifts election oversight from the Sec. of State to a “bipartisan” board. It gives power to the GOP-controlled legislature to appoint a majority of those board’s members. They could then decide which votes they think are “real” and which are “fake”. 2/
In a close race like the one we just witnessed, it will be entirely up to them to decide what votes to count and what votes not to count. Watch Maddow break it down:

We've settled our lawsuit against Marjorie Taylor Greene! She will pay $10K for our legal fees and is no longer allowed to block the public on Twitter. We will donate the $10K savings to @MomsDemand and @Ribbons4Jaime — two organizations pushing for common sense gun reform.

Lie.

Republicans didn’t want to give citizens $2K. Trump offered the $2K proposal after it was pushed by Democrats, Pelosi and the Dems publicly supported the $2K plan and McConnell and the GQP swiftly rejected it. Even Trump admits this.
Here is Nancy Pelosi calling Trump's bluff and calling for $2,000 checks. The GQP said "absolutely not."

The checks being a $2,000 total, with the 1,400 (he misspeaks in the clip w 14K) filling in the gaps of the $600 checks was publicly stated prior to Joe Biden's presidency. Here's a clip we were able to quickly find where they said this prior to President Biden being inaugurated.
