I think @macabstory is the only male issues video on YT that's not misogynistic incel bs. Boys aren't taught, anywhere, how to approach women. So pick up artists on social media fill the void with basic self-improvement advice mixed with misogyny as coping mechanism for rejection

This also gives way to where dating for young men is trial-and-error. Women are scared of rejection just like men are, but men are expected to approach. With the only guide being movies (where non-verbal consent is glamorized) and PUAs these boys make errors--constantly.

All these problems would just be solved if middle and high school sexual education was
A) Taught in every state
B) Focused on not just old issues like teen pregnancy and how to put on a condom, but also how to consent, how to flirt, how to approach, breaking gender norms ect.

Growing up I found Laci Green's videos on sex to be pretty decent and actually ahead of the curb. She was explaining consent in the early 2010s people are just now entertaining in 2021. But to appeal to most boys it needs to be like a Joe Rogan type.

This is the vid. I had to figure this out when i was 18-21 being the key years most young men are just fruitless (women date up). I grew out of this but way too many guys, a lot in tech, my age have awful beliefs about women.

It's necessary to curb this shit because the PUAs are legit filling the void with sweet candy content about dating advice, that quickly further down the rabbit hole is incel sexism, and then further down is actual far-right fascism.

And when the advanced sex ed comes it needs to be taught by people who are frank about modern dating and not just giving useless advice like "be yourself" and "just be confident." Way too many late teens/early 20s dudes in my DM asking for advice because nobody is giving it.

Great vid point: getting masterful with consent is necessary but communication vary by person and foolproofing is hard esp. when you approach. I have a consent checklist yet some folks still arent honest cause they're using sex to deal w/ other issues and I gotta sniff em out.

oftentimes I get lots of "kindas, maybes, sures" to explicit yes/no consent offers and I just have to default to no. Not only is this not taught to boys, but that many girls are ashamed to even enthusiastically admit they consent, is equally part of the patriarchal problem.

And yes it is patriarchy's fault, but the point of the video is that--that's not helping a guy out. And frankly patriarchy will still be here tomorrow. So how do you date in our current environment? This is the latter point that anti-PUAs dont follow up on
