Andrew Yang and the Times Square stuff reminds me of when I say I like Fisherman's Wharf and everyone in San Francisco gets mad at me.

I get it, you value yourself by how much of a true local you really are and performatively hate tourists. I dont care so I can enjoy things :)
I like meeting people from all over the world at Fisherman's Wharf. I like occasionally posing for pictures or taking some for someone else. I like being asked by tourists whats the best spots in San Francisco. I like all the sweets and carnival food and historic streetcars.
"Imma true local cuz I go to Dolores Park like all the other hipsters and stare at the skyline all day."

Okay cool, thanks. At least be interesting and go to a better more secluded park like Buena Vista or Grandview.
Just not true. There's nothing to do on the westside of SF besides go to the beach in August when its rarely sunny.
As an East Bay resident the idea of going to San Francisco to visit a park is not ideal. My neighborhood is a park and Tilden's up the street. GGP is good by SF standards.
And half of the people in Pier 39 aren't even tourists anyways they're families from the rest of the Bay usually out enjoying a sunny Saturday.
When I say Fisherman's Wharf I mean the entire strip from Pier 39 to the actual Wharf I guess.
Now I've never been to Times Square but it looks like the equivalent of Market Street or Powell in SF. I dunno, corporate shopping centers, ads all over the place, tourist ground zero, still fun to sit and people watch.

The worst part of SF is the Golden Gate Bridge.
Honestly the most fun part of SF for me is riding a bike down Hudson Ave.

Real SFers who hate tourists: "Huh, what? Wheres that?"

Weimar Germany not only expropriated housing and imposed strict rent control but also: "removed restrictions against attic and basement dwellings, and relaxed zoning and construction standards." - Silverman, Housing Crisis in Weimar Germany (same source Jacobin is using).
The Jacobin article is good but the greater picture about the aggressive rent controls and buy outs by the state was that these were stop-gap measures to alleviate the housing shortage and again, that the failure of Capitalism was the inability to produce *enough* housing.
The Social Democrats used the 1924 rent tax to subsidize housing construction and thus all non-partially or fully subsidized housing by contractors was dwarfed by the high density standards which private developers couldn't build w/o public assistance.

It appears AC Transit wants to pilot scrapping the 80 but sending the 79 down Ashby (the highest ridden part of the 80) to Ashby BART instead of Claremont to Rockridge BART and continue to Emeryville. I have feelings, both positive and some concerns.
We need better crosstown service and better service to Emeryville from Berkeley and BART. Currently the 36 by itself is sub-optimal. So an Ashby BART connection seems really good. But I'm worried about Gateview in Albany and the Village.
Having the 79 terminate on the west side of Albany Hill as opposed to Plaza BART station could help those areas getting BART access and the shopping center nearby.

I think @macabstory is the only male issues video on YT that's not misogynistic incel bs. Boys aren't taught, anywhere, how to approach women. So pick up artists on social media fill the void with basic self-improvement advice mixed with misogyny as coping mechanism for rejection
This also gives way to where dating for young men is trial-and-error. Women are scared of rejection just like men are, but men are expected to approach. With the only guide being movies (where non-verbal consent is glamorized) and PUAs these boys make errors--constantly.
All these problems would just be solved if middle and high school sexual education was
A) Taught in every state
B) Focused on not just old issues like teen pregnancy and how to put on a condom, but also how to consent, how to flirt, how to approach, breaking gender norms ect.
