I don't remember if I spoke about this at length on a podcast ... but, after thinking through things, I'm generally of the opinion that the Odal rune that appeared at CPAC was *intentional*. But that only raises more questions.
I don't think that whoever was behind this meant for the CPAC audience to recognize it and endorse it. Obviously, if CPAC flew a Swastika banner, its audience—the majority of whom are Christian-Zionist and obsessive about the Holocaust—would shriek back in horror.
But if a symbol is meant to resonate on the unconscious, then why this symbol? It wouldn't be known by many, if not most, attendees, and Nazi Paganism isn't the image conservative seek to project. In their minds, they were the ones who *defeated* the Nazis.
If CPAC engaged in subliminal messaging, it would have clearly chosen a Crucifix, or even the Star of David. Some in the audience might have noticed and approved; all would have unconsciously resonated positively.
I'm tempted to suggest that the whole affair was a matter of sabotage. That is, a liberal design firm thought this would be fitting or funny—and might even cause a scandal, which it, of course, did.
But the design firm claimed, curiously, that it "provided CPAC with several designs to choose from, in a process that involved ongoing feedback from the committee."
While sabotage is a possibility, the above statement suggests that something else was afoot. The Trump movement and aligned media is filled with people, not too unlike Jack Posobiec or the guy from Dartmouth who was Tucker Carlson's chief writer—that is, "edgy shitlords."
These edgy shitlords are, to a man, so shallow, afraid of their own shadows, and ideologically stunted that they think that MAGA, CPAC, and the Trump admin were "based," "lib owning," and "far Right." Basically, they accept the narrative of the liberal media.
Thus, I can imagine these edgy shitlords snickering to themselves for including a Nazi symbol in CPAC scenic design. They might even think that they're really smart, subtly "programming" conservatives to be Nazis. But, again, the unconscious doesn't work that way.
A Crucifix would have unconsciously resonated with the audience—and it would have reenforced the the GOP's explicit message: "We are God's Party—the Dems are in league with the Devil!"
If my hunch is correct, what these morons accomplished was yet another liberal freakout—and increased scrutiny of the many edgy shitlords littered throughout the conservative apparatus. Moreover, the CPAC-goers are more aware of Odal runes as "evil" and will reject them. Bravo!

It's revealing that in the right-wing and Greenwaldian revisionism of #Jan6, the focus is entirely on the mishandling of the event by Capitol Police (fair enough) and the misreporting involving Sicknick (which resulted from reports from the CP, along with typical liberal bias).
The focus is off Trump himself—but also off the financial infrastructure that made the #Jan6 possible: the hundreds of millions that flew into Trump/GOP coffers *after* the election had been lost, and the untold millions that went to the grift-squad.
Not to be cruel to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers...but they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. The idea that they came up with the #Jan6 scheme on their own is absurd. They were "going with the flow" of the MAGA movement—and clearly indidvuals go rich off the fiasco.
The real issue is whether they will arrest those who organized and profited off the fiasco. reuters.com/article/us-usa…
I feel that most of the people arrested thus far are “innocent,” in the sense that they had no idea what the hell they were getting into, and were deluded and manipulated. (That doesn’t mean that they’re not guilty of some crimes).
I also fear that the Justice Department wants to focus on arresting various “Oath Keepers” and “extremists,” who fit the description above.
David Skribina’s *Jesus Hoax* is a very important, highly readable, but incomplete book, which everyone should be aware of.
Skribina builds an excellent framework for thinking about the historicity of Jesus, the original and real nature of the Christ movement, and who really "invented Christianity."
I say that his book is incomplete in the sense that Skribina takes Nietzsche's insight and intuition from *The Anti-Christ* and fleshes it out, but then leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
We've had our daily freakout from the hall monitors over Tucker's latest comments. Apparently, he's endorsing "The Great Replacement" theory and leading to the rise of White Nationalism.
This is a typically hysterical and wrong take, and it's important to discuss why.
Once upon a time, conservatives just talked about race, or, more accurately, Blacks. Then, with Reagan and Atwater, they used euphemisms like "forced busing," "welfare queens," and "Christian schools." Enter Tucker, and they're now talking about "voting rights."
Note that conservatives failed at every step of the way, even when they were talking openly about race (or, again, Blacks). Leftists can shriek about how Tucker's comments "lead to White Nationalism." The overwhelming factor, though, is the progressive dilution of the rhetoric.
Clarence Thomas correctly defines social media networks as "akin" to common carriers, like electrical and phone companies. This is the best way forward in answering the de-platforming question.
Republicans were too stupid, lazy, beholden to money to act on this critical question while they had power. At the moment, many Democrats are arguing for *more* censorship, and Biden has gestured towards ending §230. All seem to agree that Big Tech "monopolies" are the problem.
Big Tech's monopolies are not the problem. Monopoly is a reality in the digital age; beyond that, monopoly is a feature of these platforms: you can talk to everyone everywhere.
One interesting theory about Jewish intelligence, put forward by Richard Lynn and others, is that the pograms and local and state-level oppression of Jews turned out to be "eugenic" in a way.
Jews who had a "sixth sense" about these things, or who were very sensitive to which way the wind was blowing—both of which are a kind of intelligence—would flee *before* oppression and violence occurred, having intuitively analyzed trends.
The Jews that suffered through oppression—which is, of course, highly detrimental towards reproduction—were the ones who stayed home or who lacked the resources or ruthlessness to get out. The more "plugged in," diasporaic, even "paranoid" Jews survived and reproduced.
