NYT remains absolutely committed to the idea that middle aged white, rural voters are the most important voices in American politics.

it's bizarre.

this story written by Trip Gabriel. he's probably filed 20-30 of these exact same stories over the last 5 yrs.

i've never seen anything like this in political coverage before

it's been a 5-yr obsession for the paper.
