A damning new report from Human Rights Watch asserts that Israeli policies regarding its treatment of Palestinians constitute apartheid 
The April 27 report, which totals 200+ pages, was compiled after studying years of human rights documentation, case studies, a review of Israeli government planning documents, statements by officials, and other sources, according to HRW.
'The Israeli government has demonstrated an intent to maintain the domination of Jewish Israelis over Palestinians across Israel and the [occupied Palestinians territory],' the report says.
It continues, 'That intent has been coupled with systematic oppression of Palestinians and inhumane acts committed against them. When these three elements occur together, they amount to the crime of apartheid.'
Alleged abuses outlined in HRW's report include the suspension of Palestinians' civil rights, mass land confiscation, the denial of residency rights, as well as overall inhumane acts and severe abuses of the fundamental rights of Palestinians.
'For too long, the international community has failed to recognize the reality on the ground for what it is,' the report maintains.
Israel has vehemently rejected the report's findings, with the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs referring to it as 'preposterous.'
