The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi (@ProfAkinAbayomi) said the Lagos Lifeline is a Mental Health Crisis Management service designed to bridge the gap in the availability of mental health service.
@ProfAkinAbayomi noted that the objective of the Lagos Lifeline is geared towards providing improved access to simple diagnostic, counselling, and referral services for Lagosians, either as first point-of-call, or for follow-up care.
Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has made mental health a priority, and the current administration is poised to increasing access to mental health care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of health infrastructure.
@ProfAkinAbayomi disclosed that the State Government has conceptualized a Mental Health Institute with a capacity for 500 bed psychiatric hospital and 1000 bed rehabilitation Centre at Ketu Ejirin in furtherance of its efforts to improve access to mental health services.

As part of measures to curtail security challenges in the State, the Lagos State Government has prohibited the illegal occupation of abandoned buildings and others under construction in the State.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, in a statement made available on Friday, stated that the move became necessary in view of the security challenges in the Nation and the need to curtail the spread of the ugly situation to the State.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako @idreezsalako visited the site for the proposed ultramodern ICT Park in Katngowa in Agbado-Okeodo LCDA to assess the level of work.
Salako expressed reservations about the slow pace of work and urged the Developer, Messrs Bridgeway Limited to brace up and deliver the project on schedule, adding that the company should not leave room for doubts in its capability to deliver the project.
The Commissioner expressed concern that the developer should keep to the terms of the Public Private Partnership(PPP) agreement to develop the facilities with all ancillary services.
