Yesterday was #LaborDay but none of us recalled some revolutionary thoughts of Bhagat Singh, a freedom fighter who has been appropriated by India's riot/hindutva wing today.
Bhagat believed that caste/casteism degraded the life/dignity of laborer.

The caste system, according to Bhagat Singh, was a system to extract free and cheap labour from the most under-privileged communities.
In ‘Satyagraha and Strike’ (1928), Bhagat ratiocinated that manual scavengers (untouchables) were the real working class:
3/13
Bhagat also believed that all those social reform movements lead by upper-caste were not intended to free the untouchables from the matrix of casteism. Upper-caste positively remember untouchables, only when there's a reaction to be done against communal representation.
4/13
The above tweet is so relevant today. It's also in sync with Ambedkar's thought on caste. Ambedkar believed tht Hindus remember their 'untouchable brothers' only when there's rioting against Muslims
To add to the woes, Bhagat believd tht why untouchables can't wear janeau?
In 'Religion & our freedom struggle' (1928), Bhagat called out Arya Samaj Founder Dayanand Saraswasti: "people also say that we must reform these ills [of untouchability]. Good! Swami abolished untouchability but he could not go beyond four varnas. Discrimination remains!"
5/13
Note that Bhagat's father was heavily influenced by Arya Samaj. Bhagat Singh refuting & debunking Swami, manifests the fierceness and critical consciousness against caste. As caste-ism represents social statism and deteriorates liberty, Bhagat was 'spot on' there.

Bhagat Singh too favored 'communal awards' for the untouchables, in a positive light. Later on, Ambedkar revolted against Gandhi for the same.
Bhagat, fearing the systemic invisibility-ness of untouchables with time, believed that:

In context of the above tweet, Bhagat came to a critical realisation that legal framework alone would not solve the issue of untouchables. He asked:
9/13
In 'Problem of Untouchability' (June 1928), Bhagat Singh expressed his idealist thinking by asking the upper-caste to be apologetic. He also ratiocinated the no rituals or purification act was required to treat untouchables as equals.
10/13
Bhagat Singh understood caste and the practice of untouchability and its associated binary of purity-pollution as an integral part of Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma). He asks very crucial question:
11/13
Bhagat Singh ridiculed vedic scriptures and believed that caste justifies ‘usurped power, riches and superiority’.
He reiterates this point again in his 1930 pamphlet, "Why I am an Atheist", where he says:
12/13
I am sure that Bhagat Singh would be called 'Hinduphobic' for his thoughts on caste. If he were on twitter, he would be bullied for his tweets on caste. If he were in UP or MP, chances are that he would be lynched by now.
Ending this thread on a powerful thought by him:
“...meaning of our freedom is not only to liberate ourselves from the clutches of the English [men] but also complete independence, when all people live together harmoniously, liberated from mental slavery”. (Religion and our freedom struggle, 1928).
The End.

Here in @Clubhouse, a young group of Hindus are discussing with impunity: a) "hitting on a muslim girl's vagina is equal to destruction of 7 Babri masjids", b) "we're RSS fans, we'll convert muslim girls, & c) muslim girls' vagina is pinkish than hindus 1/2
In the same series of "discussion" on @Clubhouse, a Brahmin guy says that he has an 'oedipus complex' for his mother (a Muslim woman). Very sportingly, he is advised to murder his dad (Hindu man) so he can sleep with her "pink vagina".
Yeah, this is the state of India now! 2/2
Note: "sallos" has deleted his ID now. He and Bismillah were the ones who started this toxic room on CH.
All of them were active participants in speaking shit, followed by few more (seem in vid). They're commonly seen in "offensive ishtuff" & "spoiled teens" like groups on CH.
Few liberals with 20K+ followers in my twitter DMs are of the view that "ambedkarites must move beyond twitter sphere and bring revolution on ground" for which I believe I need to refute their misconception through this thread.
1/10
First of all, thanks for the unwanted view. It's said that liberalism is supposed to internalise the matters since it believes in the idea of liberty, free speech & choices, property rights, etc. The idea of liberalism that Indian liberals have is stemmed from savarna gaze.
2/10
Secondly, liberals' knowledge of ambedkarites' history is too miniscule. If they endeavor to examine the modern history of ambedkarite movements, it'd be great. Keywords include: satyasodhak society, mahad satyagraha, navayana event, self-respect movt., dalit panther, etc
Evidence of social stratification can be found in several later Persian works, such as Siyasatnama of Nizam al-Mulk (11th century), Akhlaq-i Nasiri of Nasir al-Din al-Tusi (13th century), and Jam-i-Mufidi (17th century).
Ziauddin Barani, a 14th century political thinker of the Delhi Sultanate, recommended that the "sons of Mohamed" (i.e. Ashrafs) be given a higher social status than the low-born (i.e. Ajlaf).

Historically, many Muslims from the julaha or weaver caste began to identify as "Ansaris", the butchers as "Quereshis", and the sanitation and bishti caste Muslims as "Sheikh".
You see, if you look @ Dr Ambedkar merely as an icon or a personality, you're mistaken. Well, I can blame the left-liberal for toning him down to the status of anti-caste reformer & also the right-wing for appropriating him conveniently.
Thread: 'what actually is Ambedkar?'
1/12
When I'm saying #Ambedkar, I am foundationally referring to an aggregated state of critical consciousness too. Ambedkar was more than a human being. Ambedkar reflects the maxim of 'educate, organise, agitate'
2/12
When I'm saying #Ambedkar, I am also equating the position with a cognition over economics, sociology, history, anthropology, gender, politics and law. Thus, qualifying the interdisciplinary axiom as intersectional consciousness.
So, liberals on twitter and elsewhere believe that they will overtake the ideology/party of Hindutva by 2024 and eventually save India from 'new' India. I admire their [over]confidence, but there are few vital things/issues I highlight through this thread for them.

2/16
First of all, on empathetic note, I admire them for their vision to counter and transcend Hindutva. But, let's do a bit of pragmatic analysis of their ignorance, egotism and stubbornness, etc.
To begin with...
As known, Hindutva is successful today because of poor and ineffective politics of narratives designed by the liberals. A serious introspection is required there to appease/win/appeal social cognition. Hindutva is not just an ideology anymore, BTW! It's a process, etc.
It's a privilege to be a Hindu, in this nation, amidst the demography of Muslims, Avarnas, Christians or Adivasis. But, especially when it comes to beef or cow smuggling, it's a "cherry on a cake" privilege if you're a Brahmin, Rajput or OBC amongst Hindus.
Thread.

This whole thread consist of snippets and excerpts on the matter of Hindus involvement in cow smuggling business & hate politics against Muslims, via an article (May 2021 issue) from @thecaravanindia, followed by few tweets from my end on Hindu religion's support for beef.
2/13
This whole phenomenon I call it "cowmunism" which is inherently political, apathetic & hypocritical.
To begin with one of this 'ism' feature, let's ratiocinate that the esoteric intent of Hindus involvement has also to do with getting access to the clout of cow smuggling.
