Got several messages, comments and the likes from people who still have this belief that the Church should cease from praying and "diversify" into providing roads, stable electricity, good health care, etc
Well, for starters, the Church of
Christ cannot be held responsible for the failure of Government to provide basic, very basic amenities. Those ruling NIGERIA, from the federal level to the LG level, were either voted in or imposed on us by other means possible to do these things.
Elected officials the world over, have a minimum standard vis-a-vis citizen's expectations.
Therefore, the church cannot be held responsible for government's ineptitude.
The church cannot and should not be held responsible for poor educational facilities, poor electricity, poor
roads, poor health care, poorly equipped Hospitals and dispensaries.
The church cannot and should not be held responsible for the state of insecurity.
Many are quick to say, "with all our prayers, wat has changed?" Well, will all our prayers, God has shown so much mercy to this
country. It is our prayers and the mercies of God still upholding us inspite of how unpalatable the situation is.
We are quick to say, there are countries the world over doing well, who are not as prayerful as we are, yes, countries like China, Singapore, etc. But, we forget to
point out,....they have people of vision, passion and foresight in power.. They have leaders with vision, leaders with an understanding of how to rule, leaders who understand what good governance is all about, leaders who don't get into politics for self aggrandizement and
enrichment, they have leaders who are selfless and people/development minded. They probably steal from the treasury, but, their is nothing compared to the level of stealing and corruption we see in Nigeria of today.
It's always the church to blame, not the mosques and certainly,
not the millions of shrines and deities in the land.
We will need to deliberate about being truthful and objective.
Today, the church provides the best health care with their own hospitals, some provide stable electricity for their community, good roads, good water supply etc.
Churches are run with the people in mind
If we have to lay blame, we know where to address it.
Blaming the Church for the state of our nation, is either ignorance or deliberate act of wickedness and subjectivity or even both.
We will continue to pray for our nation without
ceasing.
We will continue to do our bit till Christ comes. Shalom.
By the way, we have an online Prayer & Intercession, special one for that matter, tonight at 8pm. Live on Facebook.
*Acts 9:40 MSG*
Peter put the widows all out of the room. He knelt and prayed. Then he spoke directly to the body: "Tabitha, get up."
👇🏼
It's an entirely different ballgame when you speak directly to a situation.
👇🏼
There is tremendous power backing up the
Word of God when spoken directly at Anything tangible or intangible .
👉🏼Peter had nothing to offer the man by the beautiful game... He only had the Word and that made all the difference to the crippled beggar..
👉🏼 Ezekiel spoke to very dry bones & the bones were restored &
eventually became an exceeding great army. ( *Just think about it for a second* )
👉🏼With Elijah's word, the impossible happened. The sunk iron axe-head floated from the bottom of the river, while the wooden handle sank.
👉🏼By the spoken Word of Jesus, a gold coin was found in
Proverbs 28:12b NKJV
...But when the wicked arise, men hide themselves.
Everyone seem to be in hiding, Killers and their sponsors seem to be on a killing spree and the nation looks helpless. Not anymore in Jesus name.
This is what God says;
Jeremiah 48v28 MSG
"Leave town! Leave! Look for a home in the cliffs...(whether they are foreign killers or locally sponsored killers, the Lord says, "leave town")
Jeremiah 50:25 KJV
The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: (
The Lord has opened His armoury)
They will bare the wrath of God.
They have sown wind.
Hosea 8:7 KJV
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind:
Let all those sponsoring terror, bloodshed, banditry, kidnapping reap the whirlwind of God
We cannot afford 2 stp praying 4 NIG..We may nt see d obvious results we desire nw, it is still inconceivable to stop. God is @ work.Imagine wat wld ve happened if we stopped praying...like I said, it is better imagined, dan experienced. Nothing done to us that Prayer cannot undo
Stopping is exactly what the devil wants and we cannot afford to give him the joy of satisfaction.
It's part of our job description as itemized in
Jeremiah 1:10 MSG
See what I've done? I've given you a job to do among nations and governments - a red-letter day! Your job is to
pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, And then start over, building and planting." Stand Up and Say Your Piece
We must be seen to perform our job.
We pray
We point our their weakness
And we do the needful as citizens too.
#Lamentations Chapter 5 sums up everything happening in NIGERIA. From banditry-kidnapping-herdsmen-landgrabbers-bad governance-Ineptitude etc.
Powerfully described in the scriptures, but, there is a solution at the end
Lamentations 5:1 MSG
"Remember, God, all we've been through. Study our plight, the black mark we've made in history. (THE NEEDLESS PLIGHT OF NIGERIANS BROUGHT ABOUT BY BAD GOVERNANCE IS UNPRECEDENTED)
Lamentations 5:2 Our precious land has been given to outsiders, our homes to strangers. (FOREIGN HERDSMEN FREELY & FORCEFULLY GIVEN OUR LAND
