so many people thought that the 18+ hot spot announcement from the beginning of april would be something that would be available by end of week / the next week. almost a month later, it’s here and perhaps if that premature announcement wasn’t made it wouldn’t feel so chaotic

tbh quoting from people via DMs on IG, the premature 18+ ontario announcement has been one of the main things that brought younger people (who didn’t feel governments were accessible) up to speed with how slow and “performative” government processes are

a lot of that confusion has also caused an increase in sharing about the importance of voting next year — on IG twitter tiktok etc

and it’s only luckily happening tomorrow bc of this which we just learned today
