Announcement of Sheikh Sudais
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
(May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you)
Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds, Who has guided us to Islam,
and allowed us to reach the month of Ramadan and has blessed to reach the last ten days of this blessed month and we send blessings and prayers to His most noble prophet and the best of His messengers, our prophet Muhammad, and on all of his family and his companions.
Dear Muslim brothers, may Allah bless your last ten (nights), and may Allah accept from you and us our righteous deeds, and may He help us in these ten (nights) to fast and stand in night prayer (qiyam) in the best of ways, and may He let us reach with His generosity,
Laylatul Qadr (the night of decree), and may He let us be of those who fast it, and stand in night prayer in it with Iman (faith) and seeking its reward, He is Magnanimous and Generous.
We also ask Him, the Almighty, to grant you and us and our parents and the governor of our affairs, and our scholars, and Muslims protection from the Hellfire, He is The Exalted in Might, The Forgiver.
O Muslim brothers, we all know the importance of these days.
Our prophet sallalAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to do more deeds during these ten nights, that he did not used to do during the first 20.
In the first 20 days, he, ‘alayhil salatu wassalam, used to combine between fasting and sleeping and standing in prayer at night (qiyam), but when the last ten came, he would strive in worship during them more than in any other night,
as mentioned in the two Sahihs in the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. And he, ‘alayhil salatu wassalam, used to wake his family up, and would spend the night in worship,
and would exert himself and would tighten his waist belt, ‘alayhil salatu wassalam, and was eager to make the most of these late and blessed nights, and these blessed days.
And deprived are the people who waste time in these ten. Allah, Allah, ask Allah to let you do good, strive to fast, and to do qiyam (night prayer), and read the Qur’an, and give sadaqah (charity), and do good, and strive to make a lot of duaas (supplications).
Be persistent in making duaa.

Allah ‘azza wa jal said:
﴿وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ﴾
﴾And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.﴿ [Ghafir: 60]
This blessed verse, came in the midst of the verses about siyam (fasting).
﴾And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near.
I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.

﴿So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.﴿ [Al-Baqara: 186]
And with the importance of making the most of this time, it is also important to honor the place.
﴿ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ﴾
That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.﴿ [22:32]

So, we must be respectful in the mosque of Allah The Almighty, and to strive in making it a place for worship and nothing else.
Therefore, we must all strive to honor the house of Allah, by making the most of our times in doing acts of obedience, and doing good deeds, and strive to do everything that will increase our faith
and strive to reach Laylatul Qadr and do what will make us get closer to Allah the Almighty and will be a reason for us to be saved from the Hellfire, by His generosity.
We must also adhere to the precautionary procedures, preventative measures, and health requirements in order to preserve our religion, and in order to preserve ourselves and our health.
Our country, may Allah protect it, has made great efforts in ensuring that people stay healthy, and ensured people are vaccinated, and other preventative measures such as maintaining social distancing,
and wearing face masks, and preventing gatherings, and other measures to safeguard two objectives in our religion, which are safeguarding the religion and safeguarding the soul.
In the name of the leaders in the Holy Mosque, and the people who visit and those who work in the Holy Mosques, we would like to express to the governors of our affairs,
starting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his deputy our deepest gratitude, and our congratulations on the coming of these ten blessed nights.
May Allah make these ten nights be full of goodness and blessings, and honor for Islam and Muslims, and safety for our country, and all Muslim countries.
And May Allah lift this pandemic and calamity from our country.
