Okay, here's how I (and presumably several others) landed vaxx slots so early into the rollout.
1. Register beneficiary (or -ies) on Cowin. Everything else is secondary.
2. Go to under45.in (s/o to @BertyThomas) and find the Telegram channel for your district.
3. Subscribe to your district's Telegram channel - THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP. 4. Between 4 pm and 9 pm, you will receive updates in this Telegram channel whenever a centre updates with available vaccination slots.
Here's where it starts to get tricky...
...because vaccination slots fill up within (and this is not an exaggeration) FIVE mins, once the message hits the Telegram channel.
So, you have to play 'fastest finger first' on Cowin, the instant you receive the Telegram message!!
This is where your luck plays a HUGE role.
If you're lucky, you'll be able to
- get the Cowin login OTP,
- open the scheduling page, and
- book your appointment
...all within TWO minutes.
If you aren't lucky, you'll spend six minutes waiting for the OTP to login... 🤷🏽♂️
Here's my recco:
- Spend a day or two tracking the Telegram updates & familiarise yourself with the centres where vaxx slots typically open up.
- Figure out the locations and update timings for these centres.
- Play fastest finger first when the next update arrives.
Easy, eh? 🙄
Okay, listen up, if you manage to follow this thread and book a slot for yourself (or for anyone else) then please, PLEASE consider donating towards this cause endorsed by Berty, who's the creator of the telegram channels.
Just got a brilliant scam call that I almost fell for. Impressed with the flow of the scam and the machinations that went into it.
Will try and explain what happened but some details are a li'l fuzzy.
1/
The person who called claimed he was from the credit card dept of my bank. Usually, most scam calls this way, so I was on alert.
Scammer had my bank name right, though, so I was just guarded and not in full-blown rejection mode...
2/
Scammer then proceeded to explain the 'offer'. Apparently, my credit card reward points had expired in November, and since I hadn't redeemed them, my bank was offering to convert it into cashback that I could use to offset any future purchases on the card.
