Always with the "Are you a cat person or a dog person?" Why can't you be both? Why can't I like brooding introspective singer-songwriters AND hi-energy disco?
“Are you an octopus person or a flying ant person? You can’t be both at the same time.”
Because I wrote some books where cats were the main theme I get an endless string of strangers who know nothing about me telling me who I am in this way, every day. Apparently I also have seventeen cats yet I’ve checked all over my house for half a decade now & can only find two.
That fantastic moment when you play an LP you’ve heard hundreds, maybe thousands, of times, and hear new stuff in it. When it hits you just what it really is, how far it went, even though the people who’d made it had already done so much. What a mindblowing work of art this is.
Still skipped ‘Yellow Submarine’, though, and still prefer the Stones.
I am glad that there are people who think Sgt Pepper is a better record than Revolver and that it gives them huge joy to listen to but that does not mean they are right.
